Prenatal Vitamins Formulated with Quality Ingredients, Care, and Compliance
I was on the hunt for a quality prenatal vitamin and I don't mind doing my research. I read many scientific articles detailing the nutrients essential for healthy fetal development and cross-referenced with the most recent 'best prenatal vitamin' lists. I found an article on the website TheHealthBeat(dot)com that was particularly helpful, as it described the best and worst prenatal vitamins for 2020. One of the prenatal vitamins I was considering buying (Nature Made Prenatal Multi + DHA) had placed fairly high on other lists out there, but was actually one of the ones on their 'Worst Prenatal Vitamins' list. The article is quite lengthy, but check it out if you are curious about what makes a prenatal vitamin good or bad.Spoiler Alert: The winner in the article was VitaminIQ--but I'm sure that's not much of a surprise. I was won over by the nutrients first and foremost--the vitamins check off nearly everything on my list, except for DHA supplementation (which I make up for with Nordic Naturals)--they are a natural as opposed to synthetic vitamin formulation, and the company's transparency and obviously high compliance standards are impressive (cGMP certified, Non GMO, Vegan, gluten free, no preservatives). I work at a laboratory, so I know that it is hard work to maintain compliance.I've been taking the vitamins for over a week now and I'm feeling good. You'll be taking four a day, split between two meals. If you drink a little water first before you try to swallow the capsules, they go down even easier. Make sure you consume enough "fat" before taking them to properly dissolve the fat-soluble vitamins in there and you shouldn't get nauseous. If you do start to feel a little nauseous, have some Greek yogurt!I am pretty pleased by the quality of these vitamins and feel good about ingesting them. My only complaint might be that I wish there were more of them in the bottle--there is certainly room enough for more. ;)

Great prenatal!
I researched tons of prenatal vitamins before landing on this one. I like that many of the ingredients are plant derived and that the B vitamins are in the methyl form- good for MTHFR. As far as I can tell, my body is absorbing the vitamins, so that’s good! The iron is also gentle on the stomach. You have to take two in the am and two in the pm, but they are easy to swallow. Does have a slight scent/taste of something, maybe the algae? But it isn’t bad enough to deter me from taking them. I also like that there are no additives, they are vegan, nongmo and gluten free! Overall, I would definitely recommend!

Can't get it open
The childproof lock on these so extreme I literally cannot open the bottle. I'm not freaking Hercules. This is insane. I've never experienced anything like this. I even tried STANDING on the lid with my foot and twisting the bottle and it's still not pushed down enough to open. Worthless AND infuriating. Unbelievable.

Game changer
Read any "Best Prenatal Vitamin" list and the one I was taking was on every list and readily available at any drug store. Unfortunately it aggravated my IBS and made me quite sick all day, every day. After further research I read that most prenatal vitamins have laxatives in them and the one I was using had it (even though it was not on the bottle label) and also had red dye, which is just ridiculous. I decided to skip advice from women's publications and track down actual science-based research. This formula came up as the top pick based on the right balance of vitamins and minerals and good nutrient sources. I'm so glad I tried it. My stomach issues immediately went away and I generally feel really good in my first trimester. Highly recommend!

Favorite for me
I am almost 11 weeks along and have had a great first trimester. Minimal nausea and I have had more energy than any other first trimester I’ve been through. I was kind of worried at the first but then realized it’s probably this prenatal formula working well with my body. They do not have an odor to me and I can swallow them easy. 4 pills is no big deal and better for you. You can’t pack that many ingredients into one pill and you’d probably pee out the excess you couldn’t absorb. I normally take 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner. If you can’t swallow they look like they pull open and can be taken as a powder. I’d recommend trying them for sure. It’s actually a cheaper option compared to some other popular brands too (especially on subscribe and save).

Does the Trick
I haven't had any issues with these supplements. The smell can be strong but it's not repulsive. I think I've just gotten used to it. Will purchase again.

Great Prenatal Vitamin
I really like this prenatal vitamin, I’m on my 3rd bottle! I did quite a bit of research on the best prenatal vitamins to take and VitaminIQ is highly recommended by multiple sources. I like that the source of the ingredients is transparent and detailed information can be found on their website. I also reached out to them regarding taking 2 of their products together, I received a response within 24hrs providing guidance on use of their products but also recommending I talk to my healthcare professional with any concerns (which is reassuring that they are not trying to give medical advice). I do not get any negative symptoms from this product, which I have had with other prenatals. It also has the correct quantity of each vitamin, which surprisingly not many products do! I will be continuing with this product as I find it works for my body providing all the vitamins I need with ingredients from natural sources and no unnecessary additives.
