Astro 9502 Hose Removal Hook Set, 2 Piece

I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger and used this on the lovely thermostat housing that has four hose connections. I bought this one because of the reviews. I had to keep squeezing on it in a couple of cases because it didn't want to lock down as well as I had hoped, and the cable is already showing wear. But this made the job so much easier than the last time I did it. It seems like I fought with one hose for at least two hours last time, but I had all four hoses off and got them back on quickly. I'm kicking myself for not buying one sooner.

I almost bought 2 similar picks from Snap On but they were want $35 a piece. Instead I decided to buy these for about $10 and look identical besides the handle. I thought these were going to be hard plastic handles but I was happy when I felt they have some rubber over molding. Have not used yet but these are solid

STRAIGHT JUNK!like other's mentioned the locking mechanism is not always on point...ok so i adjust the cabel a little betterLike other's mentioned i have a strong gripBut found myself using two hands to get proper tenshion to lossen most radiator hose size clampsAnd the most disappointingIs that i used them properly and in less than 10 times yes 10 that being 8-9 clamps the end tab witch is a 16th of an i ch thick just broke off rendering them garbageI thought well i also bought because they warrantyMaybe defective set?.....nope no warranty on the cabel only on the steel plier parts deceptive? YEA!i will stick with my needelnose pliersLive and learn!So maybe i can get a replacement

These are not for every scenario and there will be some instances where they simply can't be used. With that said, there are many instances where these will save you 30 minutes of messing around with a clamp that you can't really reach with pliers. They are made well and the cable adjustment feature (which adjusts how tight the jaws close on the clamp) is a big plus over the cheaper units. I would definitely buy these again.

Had to replace my radiator, and this tool was EXCELLENT at removing my hoses. Mixed reviews made me a little hesitant, but trust me, this tool makes things very easy. Well worth the money!

use on rubber couplings on inboard outboard motors. comes in handy when tryng to loosen gaskets to pull them off

Pretty good value for a dollar. Cheaper than a Mayhew. Wish the teeth were a little bit deeper.

It is worth the money, makes the job much easier in tight confines. Definitely a must for the toolbox.

Amazon has a lot of variety for when it comes to these hose clamp pliers tools. Most are the cheap and with a few uses the cable breaks. My first one i bought was a $15 one but lasted almost a year, it was cheap but got the job done. I decided when it broke i would buy something better, well it broke when i needed it so i had no chose but to buy one, i spent a little while deciding on whether to buy a good one or another cheap one to get buy. I decided to purchase a better one which was this one. Arrived quickly for me to use it, the overall quality feels exact same to my cheap one. It doesn't bend like the old one but doesn't feel like the quality i was expecting from a company name like this. It does the job and removes the hose clamps without effort, it isworth the purchase but for the price i would have just purchased the cheapest one because for a DIYer, there isn't a point but for me using it professionally i don't think the quality is as high as i was expecting. It's overall a decent unit but expensive as a whole. I just hopefully it holds up longer than my previous one but time will tell.

This set of hose removal hooks is really one of my best tools for removing or braking loose any old radiator hoses that are stuck. After a couple of years on a vehicle, these hose have a tendency to loose flexibility and getting stuck. These hooks are perfect for getting under them and breaking them loose. It never took me very long to remove any hoses with these. I had successfully removed hoses from radiators, thermostat housing, heater cores and other kind of non-automotive stuff. The metal is of good quality and is strong enough not to deform in any way. I believe that this set of hooks will last me 4ever.
