Is this powder heat sensitive? Am I able to add it to my hot green tea?

Hi, you could add it to warm tea but not if it's at boiling temperature or close to boiling. Some of the ingredients could lose efficacy when exposed to high temperature.

I ordered a second batch, this one has a strong "bleach-like" smell and aftertaste and a scoop is different - is it different size/strength?

Hello I am very sorry to hear you are not happy with the latest batch of the product. We did make a few minor changes. The formulation, strength and dosage are all identical and exactly the same as before. But the source ingredients (citrate and chloride salts) have been purchased from a different raw materials supplier. This may account for the differences in taste. Likewise with the scoop, because the previous version is no longer available. As before, the new raw ingredients are 100% compliant with GMP standards and fit for purpose under EU and UK food safety and hygiene regulations. They have been rigorously tested, checked and signed off by Quality Control. If you would like, I can send you the Certificate of Conformance for this batch that certifies the above points. No, it does not contain any phosphate.

Is it normal for the product to have a burnt smell (I was expecting it to just smell salty)?

Yes, unfortunately, there is a burnt plastic smell on a small number of the Fasting Salts products in the current batches (BN 111298 / BN 111299, manufactured in June 2021). The smell is not coming from the powder but from the rim of the plastic tub container. Induction heat sealing has been applied for slightly longer than necessary on those tubs. The safety and efficacy of the powder are not affected. The tub is made from food-grade HDPE plastic which remains safe. Also, the powder does not come into direct contact with the affected area on top of the rim. To completely avoid the smell, you can decant the powder into a different jar or a sealable plastic bag, or recycle the old tub from your previous order. The powder itself is not affected and will not smell once it's taken out of the affected container. We have already made plans to switch to different packaging for the next manufacturing batch, expected in October/November 2021. If you'd prefer a refund, please request it via "Your Orders" section on Amazon and will be issued immediately.
