Brilliant gift, easy to use and so engaging
So much fun and used regularly since Christmas when we gifted this to our child. The experiments are easy for the child to do themselves (ages 8). Great educational value and good quality. Yoi need to have some basice household items (lole washing up liquid and baking soda) Only minor gripe is that it is a "wizards" set... could it just be a cauldron/ potion set rather than gendering it!?

Hardly Potter, but okay...
When I was a child chemistry sets actually contained chemicals and let you carry out some real-but-relatively-safe experiments, these mostly seemed to involve the copious involvement of blue Copper Sulphate crystals. Those days are largely over and chemistry sets these days, like this Wizard Chemistry set from Buki, have all been through the Health & Safety filter and emerged much tamer and less exciting. To regenerate a bit of that excitement this kit includes a battery-powered cauldron and a vague (and therefore not legally actionable) hint of Harry Potter. Alongside the cauldron you get a pipette and spoon disguised as magic wands, measuring spoons and beaker, a pair of protective spec’s and a few chemicals. The chemicals are very benign and include Bicarb’ of Soda, Chalk Dust and food colourants and to complete all the experiments in the book you’ll have to supply quite a list of household items including red cabbage, honey, washing-up liquid, sticky tape, bottle tops, felt-tip pens and have access to a couple of kitchen appliances including the microwave oven and freezer. The list of items gives the game away and this is really a kit of kitchen science experiments many of which could be carried out without the cauldron. The book of experiments that accompanies the kit is magazine-sized and nicely produced but all of the instructions are given in six different European languages. This could be an advantage in some multi-lingual families but it makes the whole thing more difficult to navigate than it needs to be and the only obvious advantage to this multi-language design is that it makes it cheaper for Buki to print and distribute. An online (or downloadable) version that’s limited to one language would have been useful but none is offered. There are 30 experiments in the book with varying degrees of complication, some need a bit of preparation ahead of time and many only really use the cauldron as a whizzy mixing machine. At times you might wonder what the point of the kit is when you could carry out a lot of these experiments in your kitchen without it but I guess that engagement is the real point and if it makes basic science more appealing to your kids then it’s worthwhile. The cauldron isn’t just a mixing bowl, it lights up with inbuilt LED’s too and there’s an inbuilt ultrasonic vaporiser (like those that diffuse fragrant oils around your lounge) that creates a safe cool steam-like vapour. You have to prime the vaporiser before its first use by filling the cauldron with water and then tipping it out - so make sure the kids do that first or they might damage the ultrasonic mechanism. Also make sure you get the 4 AA batteries it needs as they aren’t supplied. We’ve had a couple of Buki toys before and they’ve always been fun and well-made and this Wizard Chemistry kit keeps up the standard. It’s a great way to get young kids engaged with some basic scientific principles but it will definitely need some adult supervision, especially when the experiments require the use of other kitchen equipment.

Great for young budding scientists
Gave this to my grandson, he loved trying the experiments, it comes with a booklet with 30 different experiments, it has sounds, smoke and really looks the part, you need batteries which are not included, great gift for the budding scientist

Well designed fun kit that stimulates interest in science
Great kit with multiple easy to set up experiments. Clear instructions but would recommend adult supervision initially depending on the age and maturity of the experimenter (eg 8-10 need supervision, kids older probably ok, but this will vary on the individual child). Great fun and stimulates interest into the how and why. Recommended

Superb combination of science and wizardry
Stuck inside with children during the lockdown, we all find ourselves needing to find creative ways to keep the kids entertained. This set combines science with wizardry in a wonderfully creative way. With safety gear on (as supplied), you combine various ingredients in weird and wonderful experiments. The pot comes complete with atmospheric smoke producer, and an electronic stirrer - both of which are a lot of fun. For any science-curious mind, this set is a winner. One caveat: some of the experiments do require additional ingredients from your kitchen cupboard. Also, the pot requires batteries that are not included.

Good
Very interesting, all sorts to do with it. Thankfully nothing like chemistry sets back in my grandad's house that were *not safe*, haha. But does lovely whether or not your child likes Harry potter, it's a magical experience eitherway and very educational

Waste of money as chemicals last about an hour
I Bought this for my daughter who has been watching descendants and wanted to make spells. The couldon is very sweet but the chemicals get used up in about an hour so it’s a waste of money. Should be around £15 not £40

(Lait, huile, coca, produit vaisselle etc..) Je recommande beaucoup cet article.
