There is a lot of overlap between these books, both in subject and time. I read it over a long period and sequentially but in truth you could read it piecemeal and dip in and out of sections. This is especially true of the first three books which feel like a set of essays. Only in the fourth work, which is far superior to the others, does it feel like a continuous narrative with one section leading to the next and more context and explanation rather than a list of facts and events.

An informative read with a bunch of information about Europe through the years. This is a worth the read read. Keep up the great work.
