I really wanted to leave a review for this hair oil so it might help others. I read the reviews prior to purchase, but I was willing to put up with smell in order to forgo using anything that had potentially harmful ingredients that many other hair oils have in them. Cost was also an issue since I have long hair it goes rather quickly. This oil is a good value and has wonderful ingredients. It does have an herbal smell, hence all the lovely ingredients. I did find it off putting at first, but I have come to really enjoy it knowing how it helps. I apply this in the morning, before I exercise and then wash my hair. I massage my scalp and face first. Then I apply to the roots taking note to be generous in trouble spots. I then work the oil in pulling it down to ends. Then I place my hair up and go on to exercise. I do wash twice to make sure I don’t leave any behind, then use my conditioner. This oil really leaves my hair so soft and I have gone through 2 bottles now. 1 was larger size and 1 this smaller size. My hair is growing so nice and think and looks amazing. But it is only one pice of the puzzle. It has helped immensely with the look and strength of my hair and I am sure double teaming with the other things I have been doing I do agree with the other reviewer that your hair health does come within. This is not a cure all. I take collagen, hair skin and nails vitamins and have really cleaned up my diet making sure to have lots of protein now and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. I will say that I have been learning that we women don’t get near enough protein because we are so concerned with calories. That was me. And I was exercising fasted, which I have now learned can mess with our hormones. This is especially bad when in peri-menopause. So having a tiny bit of protein and carb right before I workout, and then a good bit of protein after, about 30- 40gm, along with some carbs has been life changing. I also make sure to eat good bit of protein at each meal and moderate carbs and healthy fats. I stop eating at about 7 pm, don’t eat until about 10 am right before my exercise. So I am still fasting, but in a way that keeps my hormones healthy. It does take many months to begin to see the changes, but I look and feel 100 times better now. I hope this helps :)

This product is excellent. I have long, dark spiral curly hair. I purchased this product because I am vain about my hair. I love my hair and wish to continue to care for it to the best of my ability. I take a small amount and message my entire scalp and then using the praying hands method and distribute evenly all over my hair. This product does not have the greatest scent, but tolerable. The Bhringraj oil has a more pleasant scent. The sesame and coconut oils leave your hair very soft. I use it daily on my scalp, but do not apply more on the length due to possible over oiling and looking greasy. I compared photos prior to using it; my hair is fuller, shinier, and thicker. Great investment. However, I just switched over to the Bhringraj oil due to not wanting my hair to get used to a product and then not work any longer. The Bringraj oil is equally as great, and I actually think I like it better. Nonetheless, both products are amazing. Great investment.

I have tried this product 3 times so far. For me the smell is VERY strong, makes me nauseous, and gives me a major migraine. My migraines are triggered by strong smells and thus this one is very strong. So if you’re like me, I wouldn’t use this product. HOWEVER, I will keep trying it until the bottle runs out. Since I’ve only tried it 3x, I haven’t seen any hair growth because the directions state to use the product 2-3x a week for an hour or overnight for about 3 months. I can’t stand with the smell so I haven’t been using it consecutively. The only good thing I have seen is that my hair is less frizzy and has become very soft. The ends of my hair have been previously damaged due to lots of bleach Mistakes and I can see that this oil has helped strengthen the ends.

I first bought this oil about a year ago. I was very impressed with how soft it left my fine hair. Not heavy and weighed down, just supple and no frizz. It also reduced hair fall over the time I had the bottle. When I ran out I decided to try the hair oil from a large American Ayurvedic brand. I love that brand's products but the hair oil was terrible and totally subpar to Life & Pursuits. I never had the softness with the other oil and it smelled so bad (which I would have tolerated if it worked well). I didn't want to waste the other oil but finally I just gave up and tossed the bottle. I'm using L&P again and it's just so wonderful. I'll stick to this from now on.

I can’t express how much this oil has helped my hair in the past several months, excellent regrowth! But the bottle I just received smells completely different (it’s bad) and has different ingredients. I’m very disappointed and worried it won’t work as well as it has in the past. Strong weird vanilla scent but not in a pleasant way at all. Please please change back to original formula.

Great Product.. Would buy again & again

This is the first serum/oil that has worked to stop my hair from falling out. I have tried other things including shampoos and conditioners, which did a nice job but never stop my hair from falling out, this is the first product which does. When I first used this, I used it directly on my roots and it absorbs pretty fast. Then I decided to try another way of applying it in order to save on the oil and create greater spreadablity, So I used a shallow bowl with a cover so I could refrigerate ... then I put in some distilled water with about 15 drops of the oil. I used this to dip my fingers in and apply at roots and then pull through to the ends. This works too. I have slept with the oil in my hair with both methods to wash out in the morning. It comes out feeling thicker and shiny. I have oily hair so I do hair to be careful when using conditioners and again use less than a dime, and water down in my hands further and spread on hair or else it makes my hair heavy and flat. Overall the Bhringraj therapy is the best. I might come up with another method of using the oil so as to penetrate yet be conservative with the precious oil but so fair this oil is the best I have found to handle my hair falling out.

I've gotten plenty of hair products. I have challenging hair, and most never do what they promise. lately my hair has gotten much harder to deal with. It's thinning and looking oily all the time and hard to manage. I live in an area that is not very healthy at all environment wise and I am generally kind of stressed out so I knew I needed some help to get my hair back to some kind of good. I got this stuff after reading tons of articles on it's ability to recondition your scalp. Now mind you, I have only tried it once so far (so there will be updates) but that one time has made a nice difference already! When I put it on, I did notice the strong scent everyone is talking about but it's not actually a bad smell. I left it on for a couple of hours and then took my shower as usual. My hair did feel better coming out of the shower and it was easy to comb through but I didn't put too much thought into it yet. I let my hair air dry and then went to bed. When I got up in the morning, my hair was still sikly soft and it looked lovely, not like the usual matted sticking up mess it had become. I was so happy! I styled it as usual and it felt great all day. I can't wait to see if it keeps getting better.
