Very nice night view security cam
The media could not be loaded. This cam really surprised me with its night vision and optical zoom. Most cameras look good in the daylight, but this one look really good at night, even when zoomed in at 30x in the dark. They are expensive, but I have 10x optical Acti digital cameras at work that don't look nearly as good and they cost 4 times as much. The PTZ functions as expected. 320 degrees turn from left to right and about 135 degrees up and down. The software that comes with them is clunky, but it works. I recommend Blue Iris as the NVR, more configuration options and easier to set up.

Excellent Camera
Great camera and works perfectly with my Hikvision NCR. Easy to use and weathered our current rain with no problems. My only gripe is the camera goes out of focus during transition from day to night and night to day. It requires me to manually focus it. This happens every day, not occasionally.otherwise - great camera

Old cameras requiring Internet Explorer...
This review is for Alptop Outdoor 5MP PTZ IP POE Security Cameras, model AT-500PE purchased from LiXun Security. First and foremost, these PTZ cameras ARE NOT DHCP discoverable upon connection to network. This camera requires Internet Exporer and software download for its initional DHCP discovery configuration as well as necessity for the download of "additional" software for final setup. These cameras are OLD OLD cameras. Who's still using Internet Explorer these days?? I had to dig an old computer out of retirement that had Win7 installed as well an old Linksys router, configure for 192.168.1.1 addressing in order to discover IP address of 192.168.1.117 which camera was on by default. This is such OLD technology these days. Sale blurb states "It works perfectly with HIK VISION NVR. The 3rd party supported list includes: Blue Iris, iSpy, Security Spy, XProtect, VLC and so on. I have VLC and "so on"... as in Ubuntu Linux! After a week of messing, I finally managed to get it operational and configured into my Ubuntu Zoneminder v3.36 software only to discover that in less than 24hrs it didn't make it through the night before it failed. After a week of tinkering, discovered camera has a notorious "stuck IRCut shutter" issue that plagues these similar cameras where night vision is compromised. This first configured camera is no exception, night vision is a total failure. I paid $179ea for these two cameras. I was excited to finally find an affordable, capable IP PTZ camera to add to my Zoneminder camera system. Unfortunately, I NEGLECTED to read the reviews posted about these cameras. A fool and his money is soon parted! If you NEGLECT to read all the reviews on these Alptop AT-500PE cameras, new OR used... you require DAY TIME access ONLY. These are OLD cameras being dumped on the unsuspecting. Photo demonstrates current night vision from first camera that I managed to get configured. You've been informed!!May 28, 2024I finally pulled the second camera from shipping box. Upon connecting data cable, head began to rotate and immediately noted lens was loose and flopping inside enclosure. Removing small rear inspection cover, found circuit board was not attached to frame. Then noted broken screw hole and upon further inspection, found a missing mount screw. CLEARLY... this camera had been opened up and messed with. Included photos show sad condition of this particular Alptop AT-500PE camera. I will include Specs on this second camera if I ever manage to get it functional. Specs on the first camera is as follows:Kernel VersionLinux 3.18.30 #12 PREEMPT Fri Jun 28 09:58:08 CST 2019 armv7lFile System VersionMC500L_AF_V0_BU_DM-GB V3.0.1 build 2019-08-09 17:06:39Web Version 2018-09-07 12:28:00S/N EF00000000377703I feel for the folks who purchased this brand and model of cameras, found them defective and paid a restocking fee to return them in an effort to recoup some of their money.Finding this second camera defective and messed with, it is blatantly clear to me these were defective cameras to begin with and dumped on the unsuspecting purchasing customers. It is my hope, between the two defective cameras, I can find enough functional parts to make up one functional camera. No, I opted NOT to send these cameras back and lose ALL value. Exposure has some redemptive satisfactory value.More later...

Inside of lens fogged up in first night of use but replacement camera is clear.
Great picture quality until the inside of the lens fogged up (replacement camera had no such problem).Poor app (Danale). Can't seem to change admin access account. From received to returned in less than 18 hours.*** UPDATE ***Seller contacted me and sent me another camera to test. This one is performing great. The first one must have had an assembly anomaly that allowed the lens to fog up.Changing from 1 star to 4 and it would be 5 if the iPad app was more stable. The iPhone app allows for zooming but the iPad app doesn't seem to allow the zoom.It also likes to just close at launch but the 2nd try usually stays open.

Great performance to value PTZ camera
I placed this on my tower about 45 feet above the ground and it had to be one of the simplest Onvif cameras to configure into my NVR system. This camera worked with 3 different systems, which is pretty good many cameras are a bit finicky. The negative was it fogged up after a few hours, which I suspect was the difference from where it had been to my climate and current temperature. I found a setting for "defogging" and experimented with that, presuming it was a heater of sorts. After a few days and trial of finding the lowest setting that worked, it has been a great performer. It has an unbelievable low light color capability and built in IR as well. You can chose how you want the night vision to work, IR or low-light color. The only thing I wish it would go a bit higher in it's view, just barely above the horizon as it's made. The 30X optical is impressive and all of the PTZ controls in my various programs worked perfectly with it.

Overall a decent IP PTZ camera
Overall a decent IP PTZ cam. Knocking off one star for the GUI...that could use some work for sure. Nothing like a legitimate cameras GUI so it will definitely take some getting used to. Also knocking off a star for the slow zoom in/out and slow panning and slow tilting movement. When I received this it was making some grinding noises from inside the camera, and the speaker did not work. It appeared to be brand new, but I guess not. I also noticed on the pig tail that a wire was cut. The ethernet and power ends were there, but the third cable was cut, assuming that is an IO or audio. Contacted support and they said they would replace. We will see...
