A wonderful way to encourage reading!
My 6-month old grandson loves reading this book to his 6-month old brother. From the very first minute he found it in his monthly Kids Prime Book Box he just HAD to sit his brother down and he began reading it to his brother. Extremely well written and illustrated.

Perfect for teaching reading and writing.
One of my favorite read alouds for first grade. Perfect for teaching what it looks like to read a book and as a mentor text for how-to writing. My students love this book!

Wonderful Book for Encouraging the Magic of Reading
I bought 5 copies and have given them as gifts and now plan to buy several more. It is an excellent book to encourage reading and asking questions. My great-nephew (age 4) had his mom read it twice and when on the request for a third time she announced bedtime he responded... "But the book said to read it all over! Please because now I can read." And he has read it again and again.

Perfect to teach 1st graders the proper way to read a book!
I got this book on recommendation from another teacher friend. This book is perfect for me to introduce how to read books to my 1st graders. I love how it even talks about using voices for different characters, stopping to ask questions and predict, and using your voice for scary or exciting moments. The illustrations add themselves perfectly to the story. I can't wait to read this to my new class!

Not worth for anyone over 3 years old
I have purchased this book due to the high rankings on Amazon. Unfortunatelly, after reading it to my 5 year old, I realize that it is too simplistic, and more geared to a 3 year old child. there isnot any houmor, repetition, hiher thought, etc. to it. My kid found it boring and I was planing to return it (untill I fould out that it would cost me 50% of the cost of the book to do so). I will probably donate it to the daycare.

Especially good for young readers who can learn to take time ...
Sometimes we assume kids know how to approach a book. Especially good for young readers who can learn to take time to absorb the contents even before they are able to read all the words. Lovely book.

Read this to my 9-10 year olds in class. ...
Read this to my 9-10 year olds in class. Some aspects were a little young but the point made to them was that they need to read with feeling, even when they read in their heads. This is what makes writing come alive!
