Rich, tangy, spicy and savory, it’s no surprise that the rice cake dish tteokbokki is super-popular in South Korea (and the rest of the world too). What is perhaps surprising is that someone has managed to cram all of that satisfying, salty flavour into a bag. Which is good, because you can’t eat normal tteokbokki in your car. My 76 year old African-American mom loves these snacks! We’d never heard of them before but I’m a member of an international food club that sends different snacks from around the globe each month and this month was South Korea. My mom was hooked so I tried to find them online at local stores but nobody has them but I did find them here at Amazon. They’re expensive, forewarning.

A little sweet with a little spice zing. We love them! Kind of like expensive, so we ration them to last longer.

A friend gave me once and I searched everywhere and I finally found em! They’re not spicy, they’re actually very sweet with a tiny aftertaste of spice. They also arrived a week early which was nice.
