First impression is excellent - Update provided
*Update: Unit is doing well after a month of use. I suspect it will continue to perform well for a long time, and I really like it's versatility. Great purchase. I'll be buying a few more for each area of the house.NOTE: Seems that some users are experiencing the reel breaking loose from the plastic bracket and falling to the ground. BE SURE to use the supplied washers when attaching the plastic bracket to the wall. They go between the bolt head and the bracket. If you do not do this, your unit will most definitely be on the ground because those washers are the only thing holding the reel's metal bracket to the plastic bracket.NOTE 2: Some are experiencing the leader hose ends blowing out. I got rid of those cheap stamped ends as soon as I saw them and replaced with metal push-on menders by Orbit. Guaranteed not to leak or blow out if installed correctly. Just cut the hose flush and push on.------------------------------------My first impression of this product is excellent. Install was easy through cinder block/stucco: just mark the holes through the plastic bracket, drill and pound in plastic anchors. You'll need a 12mm (or 7/16") masonry bit and hammer drill. Then after bolts are in, just slide the unit on and it essentially hangs there.There are a few genius points about this reel. First is the locking hole on the bracket. It allows a standard padlock to be installed for both security and safety. Second is the unit has a hatch on top to change the hose out. This is great because if the hose ever leaks or something cuts it, you don't have to tear the whole unit down.So far, operation is flawless and so much better than those water-powered reels that essentially waste water every time it's reeled in. They're also more prone to breaking from the water pressure and gears. 180 degree swivel is smooth and reel action has a layering mechanism that keeps hose from binding up. Although the unit is entirely plastic, reel ratcheting seems solid and it appears stainless hardware is used.Only downsides I see:- The water pressure is not as strong as my larger diameter hose. I can live with this since it's not terrible and the long length of hose is an acceptable trade-off.- The color scheme and company logo is slightly off-putting. Luckily I got one with a tan handle instead of orange, but I'd prefer the unit not stand out.- All-plastic housing and bracket could be cause for concern down the line. Mine is in partial sun, but we all know what heat and UV can do to plastics over time.- Hose ends are thin crimped brass, which may wind up leaking over time.- Heavy unit hangs slightly loose on a plastic bracket. The unit slips over the 4 bolts that attach the plastic bracket to your wall. However, there's a slight 1/4" gap. This is not a cause for concern of the unit slipping off the wall, but can be remedied with the correct amount of washers to close the gap.I will be sure and update this review in a few months.

Attractive and functional retractable hose reel that retracts in seconds
I wanted to get a hose reel for our backyard that was retractable and discreet since birds love to use our current hose reel to perch on and poop all over. It’s pretty disgusting so I wanted something that would hide our hose, but was functional as well and this does the job.The best feature of this hose reel is that it’s retractable. It’s so easy to use! This comes with a 100 foot built-in polymer hose and you simply have to gently pull the hose back and it will automatically retract. Be careful because it does snap back pretty quickly so you don’t want to injure yourself. It takes about 15-20 seconds to retract the 100 foot hose back. You can also lock the hose in place by switching the orange switch on the side to the “lock” position and if you want to unlock, switch to “unlock”. When in the lock position, the hose will not retract back so this is useful when you’re using the hose for a long period and don’t want it to accidentally retract.Although this hose reel is heavy weighing almost 34 pounds because of the included hose, it comes with a heavy duty bracket plate system that’s able to support its weight in case you decide to mount this into a wall, fence or wood post. This can be drilled into stucco, cement, wood, etc. and is durable and sturdy. What’s nice is that once it‘s mounted, the hose reel can rotate 180 degrees on its bracket plate so you can point it in any direction you need with ease of use.The hose also comes with an included spray nozzle with eight (8) spray patterns to choose from: mist, shower, cone, angle, full, soaker, flat and center. Initially, the hose connector part that is attached to the faucet spigot and hose reel was leaking, as well as the spray nozzle but I was able to get a replacement and these new parts work fine. You have to make sure the quick connector attached to the faucet spigot is tight and you may need to use a wrench to tighten it nicely so that it doesn’t leak. Overall, this is a great and functional hose reel and I also like the light gray and orange color and it looks great in our backyard. It’s so much nicer than the old eye sore that we had!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I ordered this Tacklife retractable hose reel recently and I cannot believe I never considered getting this sooner. Here are my thoughts after 2 weeks:1. Installation was a breeze. It comes with all the hardware you need. Basically, you mount a plate to a wall and the unit just snaps in. See my video to see it in action.2. The retractable function of this hose reel keeps my yard nice, clean and without clutter. The reel retracts and locks very smoothly.3. Comes included is a sprayer/nozzle that allows me to summon water on demand. It really saves a lot of time because I no longer need to walk to the source to manually turn the water on.4. Overall, I love this product. It has increased my productivity and has made my backyard aesthetically better.
