Art Forms in Nature (Dover Pictorial Archive)

The intricate drawings of even the simplest forms of life are beautiful and creatively inspiring. I love to look at them and allow the right side of my brain to take me from thought to simple wonder. I paint mandalas and find inspiration in nature and these art forms reinforce my connection to the natural world and the spirit. The complexity of the tiniest of creatures infuses my soul with respect and awe for the timeless beauty of Nature and leaves me with fervent hope that humans will not wreck our world through arrogance, greed, or disregard.

the item as such is beautiful, and so was one of the copies amazon sent. the other was not. it had been badly trimmed so that approximately one inch of the outer edge of every page was missing. these copies were replacements for two previous ones that had a cut through them on every page! i'd still like to get a good untrimmed copy to replace the bad one but i've already invoked the replacement mechanism once and i don't want to go through that hassle again.

This book is so amazing and beautiful. Everyone in the house wants a copy. The book arrived in great shape and when promised.

This is another one of those art inspiring publications from Dover Publications. Remember, artists can use the designs and illustrations for graphic and crafts application, free and without special permission (see [...] for more details). Anyway, it seems this biologist Haechel (1834-1919) loved to draw microscopic organisms found only in the deepest parts of the sea. wait until you see these oversized pages of impeccable drawing studies of one cell observations. And you thought YOU were wacked! It's a great book for your studio and grandkids.

Brilliant studies.

This book would have been far more impressive in color. We live in a world of color. The cover is in color and very imrpressive...black & white doesn't do much for a book in this format. Very disappointed. Will not order other books in this series.
