The newer editions use very small type
I bought this thinking I was getting a newer edition of a book from a series I have taken out from the library a few times. This book was small, the paper dark, and the print is hard to read. They also have removed a lot of the graphics. I'm going to buy used versions of the older editions.

Nice little book.
I agree with other reviewers that this book may not be for the advanced practitioner. Still, it's nice to have in a collection. I have the Kindle edition. As the Sabbat approaches I can read this little book throughout the day to get me in the mood for the upcoming "season" or get some ideas how to incorporate elements of the season/Sabbat into my daily life.

A Nice Addition to Your Wiccan Library
This is a charming guide to one of the witch's sabbats celebrated at the time of the autumnal equinox. Don't let it's small size deter you: this little book is loaded with folk lore, rituals, recipes and spells, amongst other things, to help you fully celebrate the occasion and the season in a way that will connect you with Mother Earth and Nature. I have been a dedicated follower of the Craft for over ten years now, and have many books in my library on the subject. I was still able to glean much new information from this book that will enhance my celebration of the occasion. I would recommend this book especially to newcomers who are just beginning their study of the Craft and for novices who are making their journey through the Wiccan faith.

OK for a History lesson
The book was a great history lesson how Mabon was formed. Included old ways of celebrating and modern ways of celebrating. I like the chapters that included crafts, rituals etcThe only con I have with this is all of the invocations, poems and rituals all call for the work of deities, god/ess but no mention on rituals or poems without calling in god/ess. It would have been nice to see examples/suggestions when not invoking.

Great collection
This is a great books serious. I wouldn't use these as a dependent everyday book but these do have useful knowledge and are just pretty read to add to your collection either way.I hope this serious gets alittle more attention and continues with there collection. Also adds a nice touch of color to your study's or alter each season.

Mabon
i love these little series books. they are quick, informative reads on sabatswhat i love most is how each books chapters are broke down into old ways, (FASCINATING)new ways, (for celtic pagans like me) the recipe & craft section ( family nights)and correspondences for spells.. there is more, just buy a copy.. its worth it :)

Meh. It's ok, but not great.
I was expecting something with a little more substance. While interesting, and I felt this covered a good basic foundation of the history of the holiday and it's counterparts, there were only a few pages that seemed spiritual to me. A lot felt like restated info we've all read many times before in every "beginner's guide to" [insert paganism, Wicca, kitchen witchcraft, etc...]. I'm a 15+ year pagan, Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I may just be getting disenchanted and bored with the plethora of beginner's books like this one. There's nothing necessarily wrong with this book; it may just be better suited for those getting their proverbial feet wet in pagan or Wiccan practices rather than a practitioner looking for new ideas.

Great Book For Beginners
It was an awesome read to get me more familiar with Mabon in general . It was lovely rituals that I actually did do and it had food and beverage options that you can make to get more into the spirit . I passed the book to other friends before Mabon to read up on and everyone felt confident in the stuff that they read. all in all great book for beginners.

Great book. Lots and lots of information and easy things to do and practice. There are meditations and exercises. There is information on old ways of practicing and also the new way of some Wiccan practice. I have the other books in the series and they are all equally full of knowledge and ideas for both beginners and also for the more practice Wicca/Witch and pagan. Highly recommend purchasing this book and the others in the series.

Very informative, gives you a history of the holiday and touches on other sabbats and traditions as well. No matter your belief and practice, this book is suited to you, polytheistic, pantheistic or secular! However, I only recommend this to people who are new to witchcraft and the sabbats, as I found there was a lot of information in the book I had already known.
