Anything you ever wanted to know about LesMiz and it's journey from the stage to the Hollywood screen is included in this book. This is a book for the ultimate Les Miserables fan - those of us out here who have seen the play numerous times and now the movie - numerous times. Not only the story information, but the pictures are priceless as well as all of the memorabilia included in the book. I couldn't believe it! It's a great book to sit on my coffee table and to read parts of it as I go along. That's the great thing about the book. You can read parts of it that interest you and then go back find something else that interests you. It's full of wonderful information. It is well worth the price

for the things it contains I'd expect it is wrapped with plastic cover, however it isn't... Otherwise it's perfect!There's also a new version coming out this month (not sure what they changed), and an older version that though it does not have the content of the movie nor the 25th anniversary concert, have all the songs at the end.

This book is awesome! Perfect for any Les Misérables fan! I bought this as Christmas gift for my sister. It came on time which is great but I'm totally disappointed with how this book was handled either in the warehouse or in shipment. Firstly the box looks like it was punched (big hole that was sloppily taped) and then when I opened it the book had been poorly packaged. The cover was all scuffed up. There are neat pockets inside the book that hold playbills etc and 3 of the 4 are ripping away from the book. I'm not really sure who to blame but I'm really sad about this :( if you want to take the chance and order from this vendor go ahead, but be prepared to get a book that does not look brand new. I should've tried finding this at a store instead.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a "must-have" for all fans of the movie and the musical theater.The only sad point about it is that my copy of the book arrived at my home with two of the four envelopes not attached to the pages of the book, as they were supposed to be (probably due to the transportation, not sure). But, beside this the book is amazing and I definitely recommed it.

This book is a must-have for any fan of Les Miserables. The book discusses the origin of Les Miserables up through the current film. It is well written and entertaining to read. The pictures in the book are beautiful and come from a myriad of different shows. The book also comes with many pieces of memorabilia; from posters to call sheets to playbills. It's a wonderful look at the legacy of Les Miserables. If you are enchanted by that which is Les Miserables, do not hesitate to buy this book. You will be happy you purchased it.

Most of my reactions match those already said by others. In short, if you are a Les Mis fan, you need this book.... and the other goodies contained in it.I'm a long-time community theater person (on and off stage experience) and found many of the production details fascinating.Many bits and pieces that helped me connect to the professional productions - whether a ticket stub; a costume design sketch;a scene layout, or a prompting script page.Enjoy it!

Broadway World has done a loving review of this book and I can echo all of their praise for the treasure trove of memorabilia for anyone who loves either the musical of the film. There are pockets of delight filled with souvenir tickets, stage design, costume details, facsimile bits of musical pieces and a story of the daring it took to make this musical a hit that has never left a professional stage somewhere on earth in 21 languages for almost three decades.

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She is obsessed with Les Miserables. I know she will absolutely love this book!

This book arrived promptly and was well packaged to protect it. The cover is slightly padded which gives it a luxurious feel, and can be wiped clean should there be any spills on it. Inside is a treasure trove of information. There are chapters on Victor Hugo the man, and the Paris he lived in, the development of the book to stage, features on all the main characters, the dream team and the 10th anniversary, as well as the 25th anniversary, before it's move to the silver screen. Throughout the book there are wonderful photographs as well as envelopes which contain memorabilia such as copies of posters, programmes, and stage direction notes and costume design sketches. If you are a Les Mis fan then this is the book for you. My only negative comment would b that there is no libretto, but this is only a small matter and certainly does not detract from the excellent quality of this book.

Wow what an amazing book!. Having ordered this for my mum I couldn't resist having a sneaky peek before giving it to her! It's brilliant! It has a lovely padded cover and there are loads of fabulous photos and of course lots of informative writing but what makes this book so different is that it has 4 pockets throughout that contain lots of lovely things! Posters from various productions, an invite for the party after the first night, set designs, costume designs, tickets, program for the original french production, props list, pages from the script, a specially produced newspaper to promote the first tour, aerial set design, jean valjeans passport, a place mat from a gala dinner... There are 20 items listed, its sooo good! A MUST have for all Les Mis fans and if you hadn't seen the film or the stage show (like me) you will definetly want to go after looking at this fab book!

I'm a mega-fan of the original Victor Hugo book, the stage show and now the film and so this book was a definite 'must-have'. A superb account of the book-to-show-to-screen adaptation in easy read language and scattered with faux memorabilia - tickets, stage passes, original scripts etc - just to add a bit of magic. A weighty tome that is a mini-production in itself. I love it and was thrilled to receive it as a present. As a behind-the-scenes reference book, its good. As a "this-is-how-we did-this" instruction book, its inspiring and as a reason to sit down and just go misty-eyed and ga-ga at Hugh Jackman, it's perfect! Enjoy !

I had to send the first book back for a replacement as the cover was damaged in the post. I think larger packaging would protect it better. Also I had to pay over £5 to send it back and only £2.75 was refunded by Amazon.Apart from this, I love the book, and the little treasures in the envelopes are a added bonus and a surprise. Although some might feel they are somewhat of a gimmick and would prefer a book, to be just a book.Anyone who loves "Les Miserables" will find this a nice addition to their collection. I feel the original cost may be too high though, and the Amazon charge is a more fitting price.

Bought this as a gift. They loved it. The detail and extra bits that come with it are great.
