Stories: An Audio Collection Audio CD – Audiobook, May 11, 2010

Long time fan. Remembering listening to him on the radio when I lived in the country - The best thing to do on a cold winter afternoon. Certainly better than TV.

not as good a Keillor usual stories.

I had received this collection about 10 years ago as a present. I lost it. I like the "Babe" story the best. I bought it just to listen to that again. I think the author is amazing. I like to listen to his stories while riding on long trips. His voice is so soothing. His stories take me to a fun place and I can visualize the characters so well.

I bought this collection of stories to listen to for our most recent tag-team road trip to Seattle. We enjoy Prairie Home Companion and thought we'd enjoy these too. Based on the reviews I read of the product before buying this collection, I looked forward to hearing these stories. We are still fans, but not of these stories.

It's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon.How this set of stories takes me back to the marvelous days when i grew up in small-town America.It encapsulates all that's best of our culture and conveys a true Love of what made AND MAKES our country great!To paraphrase Charles Schultz's 'A Charlie Brown Christmas', that's what American's all about, Charlie Brown!

He seems to be a bit rambling in this. Usually, his voice keeps me memorized and hanging on to his every word. This makes me want to hit fast forward to get to the point of the stories. I love him though, so I will give him a break on this one :-)

My husband loves Car Talk and Garrison Keillor and listens to them every week on radio and when they are not on radio he is playing the CDs. He has a huge collection of books and CDs and I have listened to some so many times I could repeat them word for word. Please make some new ones !

This, to me, is Garrison Keillor's best collection - and this is coming from someone who owns just about every Keillor collection there is. In this collection you will find stories of lake Wobegon, stories of pure fiction, stories from Keillor's own life, even a speech or two. If you like Keillor, you will love Stories.

Keillor at his best........... the voice is amazing. You just can not turn it off. Listen to Al Denny or The babe, just the best!
