Having a toddler and a firearm in the house my family is always looking for ways to keep our family safe and have access to what we need when we need it. This is an effective solution, the fingerprint scanner allows for immediate access in a high adrenaline moment, when fiddling with keys and other things could be detrimental. Things to note:1. The description says quick access to your safe which may contain a gun, valuables, documents, or firearms. This is accurate description because the safe has an automatic opening door which truly does allow the owner to open it quickly when it matters most either using the rapid backlit keypad, biometric fingerprint scanner, or in a worst-case scenario the spare key.2. The safe is true as described, it is certainly tough and rugged made of 16-gauge carbon steel construction with a durable powder coat finish, which prevents corrosion and ensures long lasting protection. The powder coat finish is also a very appealing coating if the safe needs to be in the open, it won’t ruin the aesthetic appeal of a room.3. For the application to be used to control the safe you MUST connect to the Bluetooth app. The bonus of this are the following:o Safe can be unlocked from the applicationo Safe can manage the fingerprints used to unlock the caseo The app allows owner to change the passwordo MY PERSONAL FAVORITE- the application allows the owner to view unlocking record on APP, so you can actually view who has opened the safe and how.o As stated, the application is actually very simple and practical, it is easy to use and took me a total of about thirty seconds to set everything up.4. The LED lighting is helpful when you need to access the safe quickly and in the dark. Not only is there a backlit keypad but there is an LED light located within the safe that allows the contents to be viewed.5. Silent mode is a helpful function, and I would suggest setting your safe to silent mode as soon as you obtain it. It turns off the sound that is emitted when the keys are pressed on the keypad. Follow the following instructions:o Press "OK" button on the keypado Wait for the keypad to light upo Press "1" on the keypado Press "OK" on the keypado The safe will turn off the sound (Repeat the steps to turn on the sound.)6. To get the most out of the safe make sure that it is fully charged. It comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. I timed the charge and it took less than the 2.5 hours as indicated and it arrives with the charger.The safe is a fantastic purchase, and I already intend on getting my husband one as a gift. It is simple and it is really easy to use, all the while protecting little ones from touching things they shouldn’t!

This has to be the absolute perfect gun safe. I added a video showing just how simple it is to use and to program even without the app. The app as many features and also allows you to open the safe but you don't even need the app. The biometric fingerprint part Works flawlessly where it will not accept any fingerprint except the ones you program. And you can program up to 20 different fingerprints. Once you program a fingerprint then it can be used right side up or at any angle. It is red and open the safe no matter what angle you put the fingerprint on the reader. It will not open if you press too hard or not hard enough but will open every single time if you put normal pressure on. There aren't two keys and also a master number but you program in so you can use that as well. You can't even add numbers to it so no one knows your combination. It is super strong and works perfectly and even has a light inside so at night you can see which gun you want to grab. It's just an amazing safe. I wish there were more than 5 stars that I could give this review

Not enabled by default is a feature that allows you to turn off the beep feedback. Before buying this safe I read through a lot of low star reviews that complained about how loud the beep was. I don’t think it’s louder than my other branded gun vault, but I turned it off just the same.In case you want to know how: press OK, then 1, then OK again.The fingerprint reader opens the lid within 2 seconds of placing my finger on the sensor and kicks open wide.Vertical placement will not work unless you place a shim under it as the lid opens offset in the rear. You could lay it on it’s side but that would make it difficult to get your finger on the sensor or punch in the pin. I’m using mine under my desk.Cool feature on the pin. You can enter your pin at any point after pushing OK. If someone is watching you enter the pin, just add a few digits before and after before pushing OK again. As long as you enter less than 18 digits and your pin is in order inside those 18, it will open.App is functional for opening the vault, adding finger prints, seeing unlock history (all types except key access), and checking battery level.FYI: if the safe doesn’t show up as an option when you open the app, touch OK to wake up it up.Added perk, there is a light inside and if you will not be using this for firearms, the entire inside of the vault is lined with the thinner foam so you can remove the thicker egg crate and have more room inside for valuables (see last photo).I paid more for a vault with lesser features in the past.

I love this safe, modern technology meets the good old fashion steel safe. It is made of harder carbon steel weighing about 9 lbs. There are basically 4 ways to unlock the safe: 1. backup key, 2. master pin code, 3. finger prints or 4. Use an app. I would than tie down the safe with a good old fashion steel cable.The fingerprint biometric sensor is accurate. It is so easy to setup, in fact if you have an Apple Touch ID on a iPhone or iPad, it is exactly the same concept. It unlocks instantly each time by fingerprint, your finger has to be dry. I had no problem at all, it unlocks so fast. The craftsmanship is superior.A light comes on when the safe is opened. It uses a standard rechargeable 18650 Lithium Ion battery that just cost a few dollars these days to replace. Battery is recharge by USB or I can use my own charger.If a wrong entry is made, it times-out for 5 minutes and the only way is to use the key without waiting.

This safe is perfect. It is super easy to program and has no issues reading the fingerprint unlike my iPhone. Comes with an 18650 battery and has charging capabilities so you don't have to worry about it dying on you and having to find the key in the junk drawer.
