You May Ask Yourself: An Introduction to Thinking Like a Sociologist Third Edition

Ok, I don't generally review textbooks because I don't have to like them and would not normally read them if left to my own devices, but this was a good book. The author was not completely dry and boring, and some really interesting ideas are presented interestingly. Not a bad book to be forced to read.

Arrived extremely early and came in wonderful condition. The book is required in my Sociology 201 class and it's recommended that even if you don't need it, you should get one. The book is colorful which helps to captivate the eye and helps to keep you interested in the book.

The cover of this book is in fair condition. When I first got it in the mail it was dirty as if it was sitting in a shelf for who knows how long. So I used a baby wipe to clean it and now it looks way better. The side of the cover is also ripped, but i could just put tape on it. There is minor Japanese pencil writing but overall I’m happy with my purchase. Recommend it! Btw it contains 18 chapters.

It has all of the information I need for my sociology 101 class. The important vocabulary is highlighted in the pages along with a description of the word in the margins. The book is easy to read and does not feel like you are reading a boring textbook.

When ordering this book I was expecting the whole edition not the 'core edition'. Seeing that the whole book is cost prohibitive I am just going to work with what I have. For a quick start this is a good book and reads well. The seller lead me to believe that this was a complete book in not what was said, but what was not said. All in all for price, quality, and service I am happy.

Brand New still in the plastic! A little sun damaged from sitting on a shelf but great great find! This book had ALL 18 chapters and not the 10 like most others like it on Amazon. I couldn't have asked for a better find! Very happy with my purchase!

I used this book for my introduction to sociology. While I did very well in the course, it was no thanks to this book. This book appears to be intended for the 18 to 21 year old, extroverted, into Miley Cyrus and other celebrities. If you are a conservative, you may find the material extremely offensive. For example in the gender area, rather than giving a woman's perspective of being a woman, they use a man who had a sex change operation to give his perspective of being a woman.
