Caliper Replacement Part Battery Cover Lid 05SAA405 for Mitutoyo Digital Caliper -20 Series 500-196-20 500-197-20

Please note Mitutoyo 500-196 (without any -20 or -30) are old models and this battery cover would not fit.It does fit 500-196-20 perfectly as specified in the product description.

This item is physically about 1mm too large in every direction to fit the model of calipers it claims to fit. Not only too wide, but too thick and too long, also. Furthermore, I ordered two, and one came already opened and you could see where someone had used sandpaper or something to try to make it narrower to make it fit, and it was sold as new, not used!

I sanded the edges to make it fit on my calipers. The locking tabs also did not align, I cut those off. I now at least have a cover taped on to the calipers to keep the dirt out of the electronics.

I bought the battery cover for my Mitutoyo 500-197-20 8" calipers and it fit perfectly. It even matches the color.

Was excited to see there was a replacement part, however, the part was 1mm too wide...I tried shaving the sides down, but alas, it doesn't fix even when skinner...

For just fine on my digital mitutoyo 6” caliper

The battery covers do not fit my calipers. They are the correct style, but needed to be shaved on one side in order to go on.

Bought for a replacement for the 500-196 as described. Cover is 15.9mm slot is 15.3mm
