Dominica & Saint Lucia Island 1:50,000/1:40,000 ITM

Great detail that is totally unnecessary if you are a tourist.

Would like to find a waterproof / water-resistant version of this map, but the detail is exceptional for this small island - nevertheless, the rugged terrain of Dominica means not every variation in terrain can be covered here..

This is about one of the only full island maps you can find of Dominica. It has good details and I practically wore it out during the week we were there. The only downside is that its not waterproof, so don't leave it out in the beautiful moist air of the island too long. Definitely recommend this map, and I'm a map nut!

I noticed several lodging locations were not properly located on this map, (which created a real issue for me) I expect if I started really checking, there would be many more. Also, a number of points of interest that are shown on the "give away" maps are not shown. Unless you are doing something exceptional, save your money, the widely available "give away maps" are sufficient for driving around Dominica. I don't know why there isn't a map JUST for Dominica! I didn't need one for Saint Lucia, but it is ok.

Though I have not seen other maps of Dominica, this inexpensive (and readily available) map gives a perspective of the island's geography.

Good details and coordinates for GPS use. I will be adding extra lines for GPS. Has elevation contours but not well marked. Not as good as USGS topo map, but much better than than what I have seen.

Very helpful negotiating the twisty mountain roads of Dominica. It was good to click off villages as we went along so we could know just how far we'd come and how far we had to go.

This is a GOOD map, lots of detail, will help you navigate an otherwise poorly indicated island. Tomtom's useless, so this hard copy is VERY useful if you intend to explore the island a bit in your 4X4. Used it in 2009/10 and 2015/16.

Während die Haupt- und die meisten der Nebenstraßen so noch zu finden sind, kann man das von den eingezeichneten Wanderwegen leider nicht behaupten. Der Großteil davon existiert leider nicht mehr. Auch die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind nicht immer so eingezeichnet, dass man sie auch problemlos findet. Für eine grobe Orientierung aber ok.

Carte plus que sommaire... Elle ne nous servira pas à grand chose une fois sur place malheureusement.Carte routière éventuellement mais pas plus.
