Know wonder I don't understand the bible!!!

Know wonder I don't understand the bible! I read the analysis of the the book of Jonah. I am completely convinced that this author is correct. Instead of seeing the book of Jonah as bad history or a mythical parable, this author wants us to see Jonah as a production of the satire school of seeing the truth, much like the popular comedy show, "The Daily Show," starring Jon Stewart. All of a sudden, the ancient writers don't seem so out of touch with modern day life. The other books of the bible are analyzed in similar fashion, finding new insight beyond the traditional viewpoints. You could read a lot worse but not much better.

Awesome book for intro to OT

Absolutely loved this book. It's not a difficult read, and Nelson is on point when he digresses a bit to reach out to the reader. Highly recommended for anyone curious or studying the Old Testament, especially for seminary. I guarantee you, you'll be reminded that the Bible is still NOT a textbook :)
