The Children's Book of Virtues

Wonderful stories & lovely artwork to help little ones learn some life lessons. I purchased this for my daughter to read to my grandson. I wish they lived closer so I could read it to him. Very happy with my purchase.

This book is a jewel amongst the trash that is being fed to our youth. A proverbial gold mine in educating our children with Yeshuian values and virtues. This was a great purchase for my grandchildren.

My 4 year old often wants to read several of these stories at a time for his mama and me solo time

I don't think it's merely instinctive or natural. When our children were young, we often took "The Book of Virtues" off our shelf and discussed various issues (like respect, compassion, humility, responsibility, accountability, feelings, empathy, honesty, justice, independence etc). In doing this, it was a reminder to us, the parents. I bought this for my 4y/o grand/d and realize it's too soon to read it to her -- but not to TALK about these issues with her. After she's able to read, we'll actually read it.

I love the stories to teach children about virtues using stories as examples to learn by.

We have been looking for copies of most of these stories for years. So happy to be able to read them to our littles and not just rely on our memories to pass the stories that hi-light our values.

I'm a big fan of Bill Bennett and once again he's produced a gem (I know, it's several years old, but I just bought it).I have four children, the oldest being about 4½ years old. Both he and our 3 year old son love to "read" books; they insist on going to bed with them every night and they often stay up later than they're allowed to, flipping through the pages. Unfortunately there aren't many stories in this book that hold their attention, and the ones that do seem to be over too quickly. My personal opinion is that this book is probably more suited for girls of 4+, and boys of 5+.The book is a very nice quality and the illustrations (every page) are marvelous. The stories are grouped by virtue, but each one is independent of the next, so there are many different ways to navigate this book. I would suggest this book for anyone with young children.Physically, this book has a large footprint (from memory, it's probably 12" wide and 14" tall).

It’s a nice book to read a story from before bed or a nap

Considering it is second hand, the book is in good quality. The book itself is very good. It is a collection of stories and poems with varying length, all with a lesson for character building. It has superb colourful illustrations.

This book teaches my homeschooled kids a lot of difference virtues they need to possess. Every child should have one!!!
