Would this work for an Andersen Emco Storm door?

First of all, for some doors there are four hinges, so you'd need two kits. Some people have reported being able to chuck the pin into a portable drill, using it as a lathe, to "file" the diameter down using 100-grit sandpaper. For my door (Andersen/Emco s/n 0016359096), three of the four sets of pins were intact, while one had a spring which had broken right at one pin. The mode of failure however the disintegration of the flanged plastic collets forming the "sockets" for the hinge pins to ride in. When those fail, there's nothing to keep the pins in position and the springs push the pins up/down into the door frame and the hinges begin sagging. Andersen won't sell the simple, cheap, poorly engineered plastic collets, but they measure 3/16 ID x 5/16 OD x 1/2 L. I found bronze versions of these on ebay, but before that, I came up with another solution. Noticing that the hinge pins themselves were composed of a 5/16 ID shoulder (to fit inside the door channel) stepped-down to a 3/16 OD pin (to fit inside the collet), I found a #8 flat washer fit the pin nicely. You have to remove the door/hinge-rail assembly from the frame, and then working one hinge at a time, remove the hinge screws from the door, and then rotate the frame over to reveal the door channel that the pins and collets fit into. Using an "appropriately sized wire bent at 90 degrees", insert it through the collet and press the pin, compressing the spring until the hinge pops out. Slip an appropriate number of flat washers onto the ends of the pins to fit the gaps between the hinge and door itself, re-compress the spring and pop it back into place. (Where a collet was still present and in good condition, I added one washer; where it was missing I added two.) In cases where the door channel had widened from sagging, I closed the gap back up by squeezing it with pliers so the washer had good support. I was still worried about the hinge with the broken pin. Although I put sort of got the pin back onto the remainder of the spring, I didn't trust it, but I addressed it by exchanging its position, at the top of the door, with the 3rd one down.
