A Dad Joke(r)
Hrrrm. Not what I expected. Not everything from the team of Lemire/Sorrentino can be a knockout, still I had high expectations. I mean it's Joker. The art is mostly on point but the story is lukewarm and highly predictable. The coda is even lame making me wonder if DC was like 'Hey can we drag this train wreck out even further in a completely uninspired way?' Yeah. I dont enjoy pooping on people's work but I expected more from an established duo. This story is what's known as "phoning it in". Better luck next time. Save your allowance, kids.

Read in One Sitting
I loved reading this story! It reminded me of Harleen, but with a twist. It begs the questions: What is reality? Who is really insane in this scenario, and would any of the characters know the difference? Also, when dealing with the Joker, who is evaluating who?I honestly wanted to know when reading this and other Joker-related content, why bother talking to this man/ not truly listening to the stories he tells? In this comic, and similar comics, the Joker has screwed with or stymied multiple mental health professionals. Why does every professional think they'll be the one to really know him?Anyway, great comic. I'm assuming there will be another book due to the ending, but even if there isn't, it was a very invigorating read.

Feels incomplete and cliché
I didn't think it was anything special, people regard Lemire so much but I just didn't see the appeal. Feels incomplete and cliché. Much better Joker stories out there.

Only a beginning?
I was skeptical of another “I can cure the joker” story but that element of it I thought was done fairly well and in a unique way. However, the story isn’t complete at all. In fact it ends at the very point it feels like it can start to really get going. I don’t know if this is a “book one” of a longer story. It certainly seems that way, but it was advertised as a one off story and for that I feel I’ve been conned. Won’t be re-reading.

A fun read with some lovely art and colours.
It’s a lovely oversized hardback with lovely page thickness that I appreciate.I’ll be adding some mild spoilers, so avoid if this is all new to you, avoid please. The art is... different. I personally love it.It’s a rather sad tale although a story that has been done before over and over in tv, film and literature. But it did take my by surprise in the end. I didn’t expect the ending that we got.The cartoon story book art was also refreshing and excellent. The art as I said is different, but is lovely to look at with bright colours contrasted with very dark capturing the mood of each scene. It’s not an intelligent read, but it is captivating and engaging and it’s new ‘universe’ in comics to engage in that isn’t canon.I’m not sure why it’s Black Label, because there isn’t too much risqué material compared to others previously released under the said title.I have to point out how much I love Batman’s design as well. A lovely suit.I do think there will be a sequel, which I can not wait for (I’m sure I saw it being confirmed) but if not, I hope they continue this series on.If you’re a fan of the joker, Batman and psychological horror then it does not get much better than this.Is it a recommendation? Yeah it is. I usually write more for these comic reviews, but it’s such a short story and it does not delve as deep as it could like the comic, Harleen does.So in essence, that is a let down but not so much that I dislike the comic. It’s not a stressful read, a clever read but it is a nice read and it’s lovely art.

I thought a bit more could have delved into the Dr but this is a good story with a great twist.
