ENGEL MT35 34 Quart Platinum Series Portable Top Opening 12/24V DC - 110/120V AC Fridge-Freezer

This was a replacement for a 15 year old Engel, same model, that was crunched in a car accident. We use it when we live aboard our boat for extra fridge space and in our rv for trips. Because of its low draw, our solar panels supply plenty of power. Extremely versatile, reliable and the temp never varies more than one degree.

I purchased the Engel 12v 220v refrigerator/freezer back in 2002 while I was in Africa. I used our Engel while traveling through nine African countries over the course of 12 years in temperatures that on occasion exceeded 110 degrees. My Engel NEVER failed and always kept out food cold (or frozen) while traveling. As I write this 21 years after my original purchase, my Engel is still operating as it did on day one. You can’t go wrong with an Engel refrigerator/freezer!

We have the older model of this fridge bought in 2015. We use it in our boat and travel trailer for 6 to 8 months a year as our only fridge. We do not use it as a freezer but as a fridge. It works great and if you are off grid depending on batteries for power this is a very efficient fridge. It is not the cheapest fridge/freezer but we think it is the best. We have also used it as our house fridge when hurricanes have taken out the power grid and we are on generator.
