CURT 45036 Trailer Hitch Mount with 2-Inch Ball & Pin, Fits 2-In Receiver, 7,500 lbs, 2" Drop

Heavy duty 2", just what I wanted. I've been refurbishing my Dad's old utility trailer. I left a heavier duty 2" coupler on it. I was originally thinking about going to a larger ball size when I found this. So I decided I should go with the upgraded the 2" ball on my truck, something a little beefier than I needed. I believe all the trailers in my life are 2", big and small. Now I've got a 2" ball setup that is rated higher than all of them. I'll never have to think about it again.

Used this 2" trailer hitch a few times with zero issues. The specs listed on this are a 2" drop or a 3/4" rise if flipped the other direction. It's rated for 7500 lbs gross trailer weight, and 750 lbs max tongue weight. Although these are the specs for the trailer hitch, every vehicle has a different rating that should be equal or lower than the rating of the hitch. Be sure to verify those numbers to ensure proper towing safety. My primary use case for this was in an older 2001 Land Rover that needed the hitch a little down and away from the bumper. 2 inches was the perfect amount of drop for this without sacrificing too much for a trailer to stay level. The addition of the black paint made it a really snug fit in my receiver. Albeit, there might be a very small amount of rust buildup in the receiver. When installing, I need to give it a few light kicks to get it all the way in. It shouldn't need to come off very often, so this is just fine for me. I would prefer it being a little snug rather than rattling around all the time. The hitch ball and included hardware are of decent quality and have had no issues with corrosion or rust build up yet, but time will tell. The bolt securing the hitch ball was properly torqued right out of the box, but is something should check any ways. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good quality hitch to tow their toys around with.

Easy fit and worked great for towing a small trailer I used this hitch mount with a newly installed Curt hitch on my old stock Dakota and it worked exactly as expected. Clearance was not an issue and hooked up to the trailer with ease. Since both the hitch and the mount are two inch and from Curt the fit was perfect with no issues. I was able to tow a small utility trailer without any trouble and everything felt secure and sturdy. The build quality is solid and it gives confidence when towing. For anyone who already has a Curt hitch this mount is a simple reliable choice that works right out of the box.

Feels like a really heavy-duty, solid hitchball mount. Surprised and grateful it costs $21.00. Seems like a heck of a value. include 2" ball, receiver tube, hitch pin and cotter pin. Fits into my 2025 Nissan Frontier's factory-installed tow hitch like it should.

I wanted a heavier rated hitch than the usual 6000# hitch, this was the only one I could find & it is nice & solid. The only modification I made to it & I would make to ANY hitch (I do make to every hitch...) is I sprayed the inside of the tube with body sealer - the black rubber underseal.I spray the snot out of the inside of them to help minimize rust starting. I do this as all hitches are open ended in the direction of travel & therefore catch all manner of crud & water in them with no way out, so I try to protect them from day 1. Not that something this thick will rust out very fast, it won't...! The ball itself will develop rust blotches when not in use, mine is surface rusting a lot faster than I expected, I have had other balls that were better rust protected than this, but it is not a stainless steel ball, it is hard chrome so what can you really expect? I could grease the ball to prevent rust, but I know that I will end up walking behind the truck in dress pants on a critical day & end up wearing a nice big black grease smear right when I cannot afford to, so I let it rust instead. Oh well. Disclaimer: No one has ever given me anything for free off Amazon, as I am apparently neither: Funny enough, verbose enough, factual enough, post enough pictures of 'it' in action or I simply don't buy enough stuff every year to warrant anyone wanting to try to get my opinion. So basically what you get is the unadulterated truth as I see it :-)

the ball screw washer was not facing the pipe correctly it was tightened while the angle was a little off
