Onitsuka Tiger Fencing Shoe

I should start by saying the only thing I am not a fan of is the look of the shoe on the outer shoe viewed from the 'inside', which is the part most people wouldn't see unless you are sitting with you leg up on your knee for instance. Beyond this these shoes are worth every penny. They are light, have actual arch support, and are built well. Of course they are fashionable as well. They also breath well thanks to the good quality mesh that is much finer grade than the usual fare. I also like the back of the shoe as it has a leather flap for pulling them on. I also noticed that the heal is very sturdy and won't 'blow out' thanks to the sole of the shoe extending up into this area. Honestly, I have searched high and low for a nice looking, unique shoe that is not going to fall apart in three months. These are it, I've had them for over a month and they show no wear, which is more than I can say for several other pairs.

Got these for fencing and I love them. VERY lightweight, good grip, stand up to abuse well.Some of the reviewers below mention the arches taking some getting used to. I have really high arches and I wish these shoes had even more arch support! I use inserts in them.I've gotten into the habit of wearing these both to fencing and regular life as well. Highly recommended!

I love the european style of shoes with flat bottoms. Puma, asics, and few others have them. For a while I thought pumas were the best until I got into some Tigers. The arch support is monumental to this shoe. It is absolutely perfect. The shoes break in very quickly and the nylon upper is very durable. Very good light-weight shoe.

They are very comfortable and not to mention how light these shoes are. One thing I like about these shoes is I can wear them in casual occasions. You just can't beat with the amazon pricing.... Be sure to get half an inch size smaller than what you normally wear.... I'm normally size 12 but with these shoes I wear size 11 1/2. Highly recommended!

I love my Onitsukas. They are a great shoe. Last for a long time if you take care of them. Fit really well and run slightly big/long. The weird thing is that my other Onitsukas have the stripes on both sides of the shoe but these only have them on one side of the shoe. Make sure you look for that before buying. Still love them though.

I love this model, the fencing fashion sneaker. The size was just perfect. The soles are supportive with a little more cushion than other models. I hesitated for a long while buying this model, as I have 3 other Tigers in my closet. I am obsessed with Tigers. The Golden Spark is my next purchase.

I'm flat footed with no arch, so these definitely are not the shoes for walking around the city for a day. For me, these shoes are simply about completing a look with my outfit. If I'm at work, sitting all day, these shoes are ok for that. In fact, in that scenario they're almost like not wearing any shoes.

My husband recommends these shows for fencing. Out of all previous shoes, he feels this one does a superior job, fits well and are comfortable. Good grip for all types of footwork, that is inherent to fencing.
