Classic, thin, packable -- and truly orange on one side and silver on the other.
I like very lightweight emergency blankets that can be used to retain body heat during cold temps or injury -- or to reduce body heat gain on a sunny day by reflecting the sun while not holding in body heat. For this I need blankets that are reflective on only one side, and they are surprisingly hard to find. I carefully and partially unfolded one of these to verify what's on each side, and they do not seem any thicker or heavier than the classic foil blanket. The orange side does not make them perceptibly heavier. These are not meant to be reusable which is fine by me because I don't need them very often and the addition pack weight wouldn't be worth it.

Stronger and Probably Wont Tear
This is better quality than other emergency blankets I've seen. It's a bit thicker which I can attest is extremely important if you're going to rely on this in an emergency in windy conditions. The only time I ever used an emergency blanket was during a backpacking trip in the Sierras on the Rae Lakes Loop. My hiking partner and I split up some of our gear. He took the tent and I took the stove and food. We got separated and he spent the night hungry and I spent mine without shelter. I had one of those standard emergency blankets that you place in your pack and forget about. It rained, then hailed, and when the winds picked up it shredded my blanket into two pieces. It was worthless. I haven't done a comparison test with this emergency blanket in similar conditions, and hopefully I never will, but you can tell by how this blanket feels in your hands that it is sturdy.

Good Size and affordable to not have one or two
Purchased for my BOB (Bug Out Bag). Hopefully I'll never need this. It is compact, light weight, stores easily and is very affordable. I've have similar ones stashed around and this one seems a little thicker than the others that I have. Should last a few years in storage.

It works!
I bought this blanket to make some outdoor pads for feral cats. I just used 2 pieces of fleece with a single layer of the foil in the middle. To test it, I placed 2 fleece pads on a table, one with the foil in the middle, and one without. I placed a hand on each piece for about 10 seconds, and then quickly ran a hand across each fleece. The pad with the foil was definitely, demonstrably warmer. While the warmth only lasted a few seconds, the foil is not meant to store the heat, just reflect it. I also tried wrapping each pad around my hands, and the foil one kept me toasty. I’m sure it will help to keep a cold kitty warm during cold winter nights. Since my use was for cats, I was pleased that there is barely any “crinkle” when the pad is manipulated or moved. It’s certainly not enough to disturb or scare anyone. I also tried to tear the foil, and was pleasantly surprised. It pulled, and stretched, much like very strong plastic wrap. It also nicely resisted me trying to poke a finger through it. It appears to be very durable, and I expect it to last a long time. I believe this product would be a great addition to any “safety kit” one might keep in a car, or take along when hiking or camping. Being so much stronger than the cheaper foils, it is definitely worth the added price. Buy this, and Stay Warm!

Best Emergency Blankets I've ever seen!
I have not yet had the opportunity to use these blankets, but since they were purchased to be part of my emergency preparedness kit I guess hopefully it will stay that way. However, based on looks alone these blankets are the biggest, most versitile blankets I've ever seen. Usually with the tin foil blankets, which I have used, you are forced to pick the part of you body you want to keep warm because they are too small and don't stretch out well. This blanket appears thicker, larger and can even double as a shelter. Best aspect is they are made right here in the USA. Worth the few extra bucks in my opinion.

Tougher than those mylar emergency sheets
Two sided, silver and orange, for multiple uses. Wrap yourself in it for warmth, silver side in. Strong enough to use as a shelter in various configurations, either side out. Orange if you want to be seen, silver to ward off heat. Also, it's so strong you can fold it up again and return it to its package for another day. Great for bugout bags, glovebox, camping equipment, and so on. "Costs a little more, but well worth it" (as my husband says.) We have two and recommend these, even if you already own the mylar ones (as we do).

Well made and fits my tent.
Well made and reusable, I bought this for camping to help seal off the mesh under the rainfly of the tent. It actually fits my tent nicely and with zip ties stays put. I use it more to keep warm air in during cool weather camping, but a person could put it silver side up over the tent in hot weather to reflect the suns light and heat, overall it is a nice addition to my camping equipment. It would probably work quite well as a survival blanket also.

If you don't have one of these in your car, you should
Short version: A year ago my GF ran though a low water crossing and her car stalled out. It was about 40 outside and she was soaking wet in her scrubs. I had forced her to put one of these in her purse and she wrapped up in it for an hour while waiting for a tow. If she wouldn't have had it, she most certainly would have gotten hypothermia and probably gone to the ER. wool and fleece blankets are great and less expensive, but they are large and take up space in the car. This thing is small and flat. Stick it under the drivers seat and forget about it, until you're stuck on the side of the road freezing your rear off. Then wrap up in it like a baked potato. There's no reason NOT to have at least one in your car
