Not a silent power source, but not bad
This may be quieter than the phantom power built in to some USB interfaces, but after a quick a/b comparison with my Tascam US-4x4, it's clear that the Nady isn't silent, and is actually louder than the stock phantom power supply in the Tascam. Specifically, it has a noticeable 60hz hum that the Tascam does not. Unless you have a lower-end interface, I wouldn't get this with the idea that it'll provide quieter phantom power. However, if you just need extra phantom power, this doesn't do a bad job. The 60hz hum is only noticeable during quiet sections of recordings and could easily be EQ'ed out.Aside from minor self-noise, my other complaint with the unit is that the power indicator LED takes over a minute to go out once you turn off the unit. That's not a big deal, but it's a little confusing when the light remains on after you kill the power. The positive: The build quality on the unit is surprisingly robust, the XLR jacks feel nice and solid, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do--provide phantom power. Don't expect to get perfectly silent recordings, and be prepared to get used to the unreliable LED indicator. But for $20, it's not a bad unit.P.S. I wasn't sure when I got the unit, but after testing it, you can send phantom power into the output of the unit without damaging it. So if your interface doesn't allow you to choose which inputs get phantom power, you can run the Nady into one of the those inputs even if the interface's phantom power is on.

It's a Phantom Power! Ghosts!!!
So far, it's been 'working' for me. Other then the low output gain as well as some static background. Increasing the gain via programs made it louder, but the static and background noises were much more noticeable. It works far better then plugging the mic directly into my PC without the use of Phantom Power and no, my mic is not faulty, I tested it on my friends setup with actually mixers, preamps etc. I've managed to solve some of the issues with background noise, so so far I'm satisfied with the end results. Come to think of it, It may be the XLR to 3.5mm cable causing the issues, sadly I have not extra cable the same for testing purposes.Anyhow it works and I'm glad it gets the job done. Pros and Cons list below.Pros:-Cheap-Effective-Simple-works (?)-Absolutely no noise-Runs coolCons:-Static/Background noise(?)-Fading Light due to capacitors holding a charge (not a huge issue, but its kind of annoying)-It makes Pancakes without the batter

and I get excellent sound out of it with little to no distortion ...
Purchased this product about a month ago as well as an mxl 770 condenser microphone and a Hosa xvm-105f xlr3f to right-angle 3.5mm trs microphone cable for use with my pc. So far, it's powering my microphone very well, and I get excellent sound out of it with little to no distortion noise. It has a single button for on and off, and a very bright blue LED light that turns on when it's on. It does store a small amount of power in the device itself, so as you turn it off, the led will stay on for about 30 seconds afterwards. So far, the small sleek shape is very appealing, it works excellent, and has nice foam feet to keep it in place, and protect surfaces it's sitting on. I highly recommend this product, and will probably be purchasing another for a future pc recording setup.

First Phantom Power supply
Well for one it is small, the power on the front is helpful and it is definitely heavier then I thought. I cleared off my desk of clutter and placed the Nady SMPS-1x power supply within arms reach. On the other side of the desk (about 49") I have my microphone stand and mixer which runs the chords behind it. The power supply was simple to set up, has a really nice mechanism in the back to get the chords released without pulling and pushing hard. The power button on the front was really useful. Once I was done utilizing the microphone I simply pushed the power button and it went off, but I could continue using the mixer and keeping my headphones in to stay efficient. Great buy for a single user podcast. If you plan on having guest or co-hosts, recommend the Nady that is about 39.99 has several ports and same quality.

Build quality is excellent. If I had any feedback
It provides phantom power to a microphone. It has a power switch. It has a blue LED. It came exactly as the picture indicated. It works exactly as it's supposed to. Build quality is excellent. If I had any feedback, I'd say I'd like it if it could have holes so I could mount it under my desk. That's not really too big of a priority, however, and it seems to work absolutely fine.It added zero noise to the line, which makes sense considering how XLR phantom power supplies are supposed to work, and I'm absolutely happy with this product. If money weren't a factor, this would still be the one I purchase.

Works great for me
After getting a new mic and then realizing that I needed 48V phantom power, I decided to give this a try - and I'm glad that I did. It's nice and compact, seems well built, and is very easy to set up and use. I like that it has a power button on the front so that I can easily turn it on and off.I have a Samson condenser mic connected to this power supply, which is then connected to my computer using an AGPtek XLR-to-USB cable. It works flawlessly, and I haven't noticed any extra noise on the recordings. At the current price of $20, I highly recommend giving it a look.

Works well just have to make sure you don't boost the input too much as you will get a hum.

Funcionaron de maravilla con mi mixer, los utilicé para amplificar la señal, son prácticos y cómodos, no es necesario que compres otro mixer para tener mas entradas canon!
