Creative Haven Snowflake Mandalas Coloring Book (Adult Coloring Books: Mandalas)

I absolutely love this book! I enjoy working mandalas as they truly help me relax. I prefer to have rather intricate designs and this definitely fits the bill!I started coloring a year or so go at the suggestion of a dear friend. I became totally disabled in 2000 which led to me having to give up my career. I suffer with pain every day as a result of my disability and keeping my mind occupied helps me to deal with the constant pain. I’m always seeking new ways to keep myself busy during the day besides reading and coloring has proven to be a wonderful distraction.Over the past year I’ve experimented with types of coloring books and various pencils, pens and markers. I quickly realized how wonderful the Creative Haven books are...the designs are printed one one side, the paper is a nice weight and the pages are perforated. I like to remove the pages which makes it much easier to work on as I can rotate the page to color and not have to worry about smearing the ink. I tend to use either gel pens or brush markers

Love this book! The designs in this book are so pretty. They have just the right amount of detail -- no giant areas to color in (I'm not a fan of that, as I typically use markers and gel pens) and yet, no super tiny spaces either. That said, you really do need to use the ultra fine markers (I use ultra fine sharpies) -- the fine point markers will not work on this book. Or gel pens or sharp colored pencils. I'm mainly sticking to winter-themed colors when coloring this book -- lots of blues and silvers. Gel pens with glitter look FAB on these designs.Pages are one-side, but if you're using markers, you'll want to put a piece of paper underneath your design so it doesn't leak through.Check out my finished pages - I hope this gives you some inspiration on what you can do with this book! Some of the images in this book are very detailed and will take a fine tip to color them. That being said I like all the designs and am looking forward to coloring them.The pages are perforated and one sided, which makes them easy to remove and color without anything bleeding through to either the next page or an image on the back of the page. The paper is of good quality and should be able to take any media that you choose to use in coloring the images. If you plan not to remove the pages, I suggest you use some kind of blotter under the page as you color as to block any bleed through.

I am now on my third one of this particular coloring book. I color a lot because I stay home a lot. Creative Haven has more of my favorite books than any of the other publishers. There are some good ones out there, but it is very difficult to find books with no pre-colored black portions or heavy black lines. For some reason, they do not seem to include such pictures in the pre-view advertisements on the Amazon sales site.

This coloring book is one of the nicer ones I've bought, the designs are very nice and well thought out and very nice to color. I got this for my wife and she is loving it! She is using ultra-fine tipped markers to color with a backing page to keep from run through to the next page design. The results are stunning, as it is difficult to tell the difference between her pages and the printed demo pages, (except her pages have better color, brighter and more vivid).Pages in this book are nice heavy paper and only printed on one side. We are very happy with this book and would buy it again for a gift.

Very appealing designs, not very snowflake like shapes; however, good quality paper, even for water based markers such as the Tombow brand. Though, the designs are so tightly intricate, I would strongly recommend using colored pencils over any type of markers, as most markers tips aren’t fine enough.

Fun for passing time while watching/listening to television. I use markers for the bigger areas and sparkly or metallic gel pens for the smaller highlights. The pictures are printed on one side to make using markers fun even if they bleed through the paper. I always put a folded up newspaper behind the picture so if the markers bleed through they won't mark what's underneath the picture. I also tear the page out before I start coloring.

I'm sure these will be great for someone with very good even excellent eye sight. Not so much for me. The designs are small and very intricate. Sadly, I am returning these.

Just what I have come to expect from Creative Haven. This is very good quality paper and I like when the pages are perforated as I take them out to colour in. The mandalas are meant to be designed on snowflakes which by their very nature are very individual, and these do fail on that score as the same little patterns inside the circle are quite repetitive, I suppose it is very difficult to keep finding different little doodles to use. But still, I shall take these out when I don't want to concentrate too hard.

One of my favourite adult colouring books so far. I'm new to this so I got lucky when I chose this as my first colouring book! It's lovely and the designs are a pleasure to work on. Highly recommended!

These books are so nice to colour. Very good paper. One picture per page and the facility of tearing the page out by perforations. Highly recommend them for adults, who will appreciate the quality.

The designs are quite similar to each other but that's a given considering it's themed. Decent quality paper.

Really nice book of mandala patterns. The designs look great with metallic or sparkly gel pen colours. The paper is smooth and feels to be 90 gram weight, so not too thin. The pages tear out, which makes it easier to access the individual sheets.
