This bag will not stand up if your child is ruff and tumble. The bottom side started to tear open, because he constantly dragged it over the sidewalk and other areas at school. The handle is not as sturdy. Not recommended for a Grade 1 students. Best kept for kindergarten.

I bought this for my kindergartener and wasn't happy that it isn't sturdy at all! Within a week, the side net has already started to tear. It can't hold many things inside either. For the cost, the bag wasn't worth it!

This bag is very colorful and sturdy. We have used it to travel and as a school bag. The wheels rolled great throughout the various airports and the straps are slightly padded making it comfortable to be worn on your back. The handle raises with ease and so far seems to be durable in the care of a four year old. Great purchase for the price.
