HONGDIAN Fountain Pen — Black (Black-1)

So, today is the first day of my using this pen. Therefore, I cannot attest to the durability, longevity, or anything of the sort. However, I can tell you, I love the weight of the pen. I like a heavy pen, personally. The feed is great, and the pen writes just as well as my top dollar fountain pens. The cap could be about 3/8-1/2” shorter, it’s a tad long when posted, but that’s not really a big issue for me. It IS a little thin in my hands, but I have large hands and typically write with a thicker pen. Overall though, the pen is pretty nice for the price. The knurling on the barrel is nice and comfortable, the pen doesn’t twist in my hands either. Again, I can’t speak upon the longevity of the pen or the black on the nib, but so far, this is a good pen. And for the price too. I mean, I don’t expect a pen at this cost to last forever. I can always just get another one. But this is a nice addition to my collection for sure!

It is definitely a decent pen. If you are like me and wanted to try a fountain pen for cheap to see how it would be, this pen is great for that. It writes well, and the nib is solid, but that is honestly as far as my praise goes. after 3 weeks of use, the black paint or coating is peeling off, which is a shame because the design of the pen is gorgeous. The included ink carts are trash. They are very hard to open, as I had to get a small screwdriver to pop open the seal because the pen alone could not do it. They would also not feed into the nib properly, so about every 5th or so letter i would write wouldn't actually write. The refillable cartridge that was included actually works great. It feels a little cheap but was easy to refill, has not leaked and did not have the feeding issues the prefilled ones had. Overall I would say if you are new to fountain pens, this one is ok. If you have experience with them, look elsewhere.

I think it could be much easier to use. The instructions are confusing I think it would have been better to buy a different pen.

I love the feel of this pen. I like the heft and material of the pen, and the textured grip is a pleasure to hold. I have been dissatisfied with the ink, however. I brought it with me to take notes, and the ink wouldn't write half the time. Even with only downstrokes, it would only mark some of the time, and the color was faded. It's possible that I got a bad ink cartridge, as it's still new and I haven't tried a new cartridge yet.

Pen arrived yesterday. I have tried to get the pen to write, not happening. I have tried to load new cartridges, not happening. The pen LOOKs cool.....but doesn't work. Don't waste your money.....

This pen looks stylish,is easy to write with,and doesn't leave dry ink marks like other fountain pens i have used. I wanted to gift this to my colleagues, and wanted to ascertain that it is worth it. Loved the packaging, it is a very elegant and a decent gift material. I received 2 ink cartridges and i will be updating the review to see how long it lasts. Quite clearly, i am impressed. at this price, i think its a steal of a deal. The titanium nib gives a very smooth writing experience and unlike other pens, doesn't make that friction sound. the vibrant color is the best. The grip and the aluminium body makes for a very premium experience. At 4 oz, it could be a little troublesome for kids, and i reckon, this would best suit for office or short writing needs.

The packaging this pen came in was very nice and professional, I was impressed while opening the box to get to my new pen. Unfortunately, it took me awhile to figure out how to put the pen together. Of course like everything, it came with instructions. I am not sure if I am just bad at reading and following directions or if the directions they provided were not clear enough. I asked my boyfriend to help me figure it out and he got it put together for me in just a few short minutes. Once the pen was assembled I was afraid that it was not going to write smoothly and bleed ink everywhere. I was wrong, it wrote so smooth! I highly recommend this pen set aside having trouble putting it together.

I was attracted to this pen for its industrial look. I do have a lot of fountain pens, and I wrote with this one in my journal just this morning. The quality is excellent. Wrote well, smooth. I like the black nib. The pen does post. Came with a converter. I like this pen.
