The colors produced by this test are much darker and easier to read than the API version. The method is the same as the API test. Even though its more expensive, I will be buying it again.

I remineralize my RO water for my freshwater aquariums. This test allows me to target the preferred hardness range for my soft water fish and plants to keep them healthy.

Trusted to balance the aquarium out. So far my go to to see how much my reverse osmosis is taking out.

I love the large diameter tube. The API kits come with these skinny tubes that fall over and/or leak. This Sera test tube is great. I assume the test is accurate but I have no way to check.

Larger glass tube compared to the API kit prevents the liquid from leaking when you shake/mix. Easier reading as the color is more pronounced than API.

There are so many of these test kits that make you discern between varying levels of the same color. This has simple instructions and results.
