Classic Maria Cookies (1 box- 28.4 oz/800g- 4 Rolls)

I first discovered these cookies in a local store. When that store stopped carrying them, I searched on Amazon and found them here. Before I ever knew about Maria cookies, I went through a period of stomach symptoms, nothing serious, it was just that if I ate too many sweets, the symptoms would act up. The reason I first purchased these Maria cookies was that they were not so sweet as to produce the "tummy aches" I had been experiencing with products containing too much sugar. (I am not diabetic by the way.) I finally recovered after reducing my intake of sweets over a long period, but during the recovery period I did NOT stop eating Maria cookies, and I recovered anyway. I'm not touting these as a cure, I'm just claiming they did not contribute to the problem. My reason for explaining all this is to let people who have not yet tried these cookies know not to expect these to be real sweet. But they are sweet enough to enjoy, for folks who do not like things very, very sweet. If you wonder what they are like, I would compare them to graham crackers in texture. Keep in mind that I do NOT mean they TASTE like graham crackers, NOR that their texture is EXACTLY like graham crackers. I say this only to give the curious a rough idea of what to expect. The price is reasonable, so if you can identify with what I have written here, I'd recommend going ahead and giving these a try.

Very disappointed. I ordered the cookies on Dec 2016 and they expire on Jan 2017. I will keep them because it is an inconvenience for me make the return, but I won't buy again anything to La Tienda.

I found a roll of these cookies (7 oz. approximately) at Dollar Tree just recently for $1. These are Spanish cookies from Barcelona, Spain. Since we are planning a trip to Barcelona in the summer, I found the connection interesting! In any case, these are very tasty, crunchy and satisfying cookies - more like sweet, but not overly sweet biscuits. They would be the perfect compliment to tea or coffee. One serving size equals 5 cookies - not a bad snack if you have a craving for something sweet.

Maria cookies make me sick every time I eat them. Last time I got a bad throat pain for weeks and then cough lasted 3 months. Been eating them for years and I have noticed.
