Kwikset 91590-003 Milan Round Double Cylinder Deadbolt Featuring SmartKey in Satin Nickel

Good quality, Sturdy and easy to use.

I originally purchased this deadbolt for my vintage Airstream. For that application, it required extensive modification (disassembly, machining, reassembly) to install properly without sacrificing structural integrity of the door frame. That is NOT a normal application and similar modification would be required for any standard deadbolt.The look and function are exactly what I was looking for. The clean design and SmartKey compatibility make this my go-to. I purchased 2 more Milan deadbolts for our new old (1942) home, likely with original doors and frames. Minor adjustment to the door was required to fit the deadbolt but that was easy enough and installation went smoothly. Re-keying with the SmartKey was a breeze so now I have matching keys for ALL exterior door deadbolts and handles.I paired this with the Kwikset Pismo handles which go well together and now share keys. I would recommend both.

This deadbolt works perfect and was easy to install. It looks superb on our solid red oak door. What's really nice is the SmartKey feature that lets you easily rekey the lock to another key without calling a locksmith. I replaced all our house locks with locks that have this feature and we went from 5 keys to one!

I had a different double-keyed deadbolt from Kwikset. And due to horrible events, it was tested by fireman. It took many, many hits for the house frame and the door, to finally fail for them to gain entrance to my home. The deadbolt still works, and the strike that was mounted with the 4, 3" screws provided, into the dual 2x4 studs of the house frame held up. Incredibly strong.

Perfect for the front door and is smooth turning

Arrived chipped, but otherwise fine and came with no missing parts. I am going to buy another one and try to return the one I purchased because I really like how it looks.

Its a higher end Kwikset lock, definitely better than the $20 locks they sell at Home Depot. If drilling a new hole plan ahead and get a door lock install kit or a lock & door reinforcer to draw the drill location. The template included with this lock isn't helpful.

I wanted this for my back door, which has a window on it. I've never installed a deadbolt before, but the instructions were good and much of the lock was already assembled anyway. I had no problems installing in a standard size door. Keying the smart lock is also very easy.

I needed something that matched the original lock on my condo door. This was exactly the same, except it says "Kwikset" instead of "Weiser" in small lettering, but I don't think anyone will see that. This was easy to install; it took my husband about 15 minutes, and he's not super experienced with lock installations. I re-keyed it to our existing keys, which was as easy as the instructions say it will be. After many hours searching for a solution to a safety issue that didn't involve anything visible from the hallway of our condo, I could not be happier with this lock!
