KwiksetHalifax Deadbolt Lock, Polished Chrome Square Exterior Keyed Front Entry Door, Pick Resistant SmartKey Rekey Security, Single Cylinder Dead Bolt

I bought this deadbolt for a metal screen door. I'm happy with quality of the materials and the Brushed Nickel finish. As far as deadbolts go, installation was extremely easy. I have replaced all of the door hardware throughout the house with pieces from the Baldwin Reserve and Kwikset Halifax collections. This deadbolt coordinates beautifully with them, thanks to the square backplate and the clean, simple lines.

We just received these today & they're installed (thanks to my amazing husband). They seem solid, well-built and work very smoothly. We replaced all of the door hardware with Kwikset Halifax satin nickel for our home's 20th birthday, I'm sure it appreciates the gesture. The old hardware was that old-school polished brass that had become scratched & dated. The levers and thumb screw are much more solid than the lightweight contractor's grade that we had. We're very happy with the replacements & would highly recommend!

Very nice deadbolt. I especially like the ability to rekey to the keys I currently have. One thing to note is to pay attention to the top orientation on the thumb latch plate. The instructions weren’t real clear and on my first install the bolt was really tight and hard to turn. When I took it back off to recheck everything I then saw the indicators on the inside of the plate and realized I had the thumb turn plate on upside down. After I installed it correctly the mechanism worked easily.

We bought a new handle set from the same manufacturer for our front door. Unfortunately the deadbolt on that set was "low-profile" which looks nice, but was not compatible with our August lock. This was an easy fix for <$30. Installed easily and matches the rest of the setup (Satin Nickel in our case).

We recently built a house and purchased the kwikset locks for all of our doors. They are quality made, modern style, and the fact that you can "re-key" all of the locks to take the same key is just amazing. I also like knowing the fact that burglars cannot "hit" your door lock with a hammer or such and have immediate access like they can with some other locking brands.

This product was easy to add to a door, we have installed it to our outside metal door. Although this lock is very sturdy it takes a lot of effort to open with the handle and especially hard to open with a key. We thought that overtime the handle would loosen up a bit but it stays just the same as it came.

I like the look of this lock and it matches the door handle (Halifax). It was easy to assemble but does require a little patience. Screwing the two sides together could be tricky if they aren't both both perfectly lined up.

Everything was in the original packaging so I am assuming this is a manufacturer defect. The screws for the two faces of the lock were the right length but much smaller than where they were supposed to be screwed into - you could just push them in. Therefore it was impossible to actually get the lock to stay on the door.
