Tiergrade Superspeed 7 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card with 15-Pin SATA Power Connector - PCI Express(PCIe) Expansion Card USB Card for Desktop PC Support Windows 10/8.1/8/7/XP

This USB 3.0 card was installed fast and without issue. It's tiny and fits between my SATA expansion cards. I don't have the ability to verify if it's actually sending 5 GBS, but I did plug in a 1TB portable drive to see if the read/write speed was affected. Not at all, they were the same as the other PC I built for someone else using the front panel USB ports. It is a great value for the money. I just 100% recommend this product

Windows 10/11 plug in play. Powered from the power supply makes this very stable and reliable.I had purchased another that was self powered through the slot. That works for individual items, but not for running up to a hub.This card over achieves in that area. Accepts my 3.0 hub plus any items plugged in to the card itself.

When first installed into my Windows 10 PC the USB ports would not function as they should. Notification sound would play when something was plugged in but it wouldn't be available, 30-60 seconds later it would notify play the USB disconnected sound and say "USB device failed".In device manager, this device is under "Universal Serial Bus controllers". It is the "VIA USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)"However another new device is also noted in device manager.Under "Other devices" you will see "PCI Device" with a yellow warning symbol on it, indicating it is not functioning properly.Right click and disable this (not uninstall, otherwise the problem will reappear when device manager scans for new hardware again). It's like windows is identifying it as 2 things, one which it knows, and one which it doesn't. Which causes it to not work completely. I just disabled the PCI Device and it works great now!

Owned for four years. Going strong still. Seeing now it cant be purchased though at the time of review.

I upgraded my CPU/mobo and wanted a few extra USB ports to reduce hub usage so I ordered this Tiergrade Superspeed 7 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card . The first bootup went ok and devices were recognized and I thought it was all good.But it was not all good.The device would sometimes show working in device manager and attached devices functioned ok. Other times, it would show error in device manager "device cannot start". Two times, device manager showed ok, but USB keyboard input was bad messed up. The brand new z690 build was somewhat unstable - usb performance often extremely poor and BSODs, with this Tiergrade card installed. After a few days of trying to work with the PCIe card, I just took it out, went back to using a hub and now all is actual good.YMMV, but that's been my experience with this card in a brand new build.

Not a whole lot to say. Got it to use occulus link with my quest 2 in a PC without usb3 or c ports.It was plug and play (Worked immediately after install) for my win 10 machine.Though for 7 it might need drivers to my understanding. They do include a driver disk though and extra mounting screws for in your case if you don't have them.Overall I am happy with the buy.Update: Been using the card now for about a year in my PC. Even though since I rebuilt my computer I have 3.0 ports now I have still been using this card for the Quest 2 and as extra ports for Phone tethering, external drive and so forth and it still has been doing great!

I bought this, approx 3 years ago, to attach it to my ancient PC running the now-ancient Windows 7.The PC came with USB2. My goal was to leverage USB3 for its higher transfer speed.The purpose was to attach external HDDs that hold videos, audio, and misc. media.I attached 2 HDDs with no problem: a 5TB, and a 2TB.I added a 2nd 2TB HDD; a total of 3 attached. My PC started to fail to recognize one of those HDDs. Upon boot-up, a random HDD of the three does not mount (invisible.) Upon shutdown, the PC takes a very long time (minutes) to shut down. I could fiddle and re-attach the 3rd HDD while PC is running, but the result was still iffy; eternallly slow transfer speed, no transfer, PC hanging, etc.I ended up connecting the 3rd external HDD to a USB2 port on the mainboard, with no issues with the PC recognizing it.Overall, this card was worth it for me, as it provided a reasonable transfer rate for large media files.The limitation could be with Windows 7. I don't remember if the card's instructions mentioned any limitation with that OS. The card might behave better on a Windows 10 OS, but have not tried it.One fun usage of the internal port on this card is, I used it to power a 40mm fan to help cool a particular part of the mainboard.Regardless, the card helped extend my PC's functionality, alas with a bit of a limit.

Shipping was fast as to be expected with Amazon and its' partners. I had assumed that the PCI-E slot would be enough to power the card. I was mistaken. After connecting the SATA cable to the PSU and the card, the mini LED I had set up as a simulated stage light turned on in my PC. The theme I chose for my PC was a red light district pole dancer/strip club, and it looks too good to change it out for any girlfriend. Yes, it looks that good. Because there are 2 internal USB ports on the Tiergrade Superspeed 7 ports PCI-E USB 3.0 Expansion Card, I will be adding a strobe light to complete my theme.
