After 2 months of use now, really good and enjoyable to use
I thought I would wait a few months before writing a review for this 3D Printer. Mine was bought from Sovol Store, without any problems. These types of printers are not consumer products, it's a kit so you will be tinkering, you will have to learn how to get around teething problems. However saying that this printer is easily the least punishing one I've ever used and there's a huge community of people out there who share tons of useful info to help you out.It didn't take long to assemble and I got going pretty quickly. It wasn't perfect out of the box - there's a slight bend in one of the lead screws (these are the 2 vertical threaded rods that move the bed up and down). Loosening the brass sleeves attaching it to the bed, allows for a bit of play and gets around this issue - they are cheap to replace anyway. It is also very very loud out of the box (more on this later). It's a good idea to level the whole unit with a spirit level and line up both z-axis rods so the bed is straight (looking from left to right) before you start any auto levelling - otherwise you can end up with the bed being flat but the gantry underneath being at a steep angle with the lead screws, which increases the chances of it sticking (I learned this the hard way!).The white tube that feeds the extruder (bowden tube) is very low quality and will burn up quickly, buy a PTFE one, it's a cheap upgrade that's worth doing immediately.I purchased the silent mainboard upgrade to this (also from sovol) and it's pure witchcraft - it eliminates any noise from the motors, all you can hear is fans - absolutely worth it (shame it's not included). Really easy to fit and you'll learn a lot about the machine performing this upgrade. It did not come with the Ender community preferred 'Meanwell' power supply, but I've had no issues at all with power, so I think the model provided for the UK is perfectly capable (but I'll keep an eye on it).But overall I love it!

Amazing printer for beginners and experianced users
This is my second 3d printer and it is a massive improvement over my CR-10S which has been heavily modified. Setup was easy although the instructions could have been a bit clearer as it is easy to install the vertical posts upside down. The build plate is massive and should meet most people requirements. Heat up times of the build plate are much quicker than the stock CR-10S and holds the temprature well. The only thing that has let this printer down is the plastic bowden assembly, this really should be all metal (as on the CR10) the filament run out switch is now in a metal housing which is a great improvement. It is also a shame that this does not come stock with the Silent Board with TMC2208 Driver which supposedly reduces the whine from the drive motors to virtually nothing. I have ordered this board so will see if it is worth the £45Overall if you are looking for a quality 3D printer then this would be my first choice

Very disappointed at this product.
I am very disappointed at this product due to the fact the PSU stopped working the first time I turned it on.This has now forced me to purchase another one for the printer which is unacceptable considering the price. The parts the printer comes with should already be working.A response to this would be very much appreciatedKind RegardsZack Jacobs- [email protected]

A mechanically excellent printer but probably not ideal for a first-time buyer
I had some initial problems. X and Y axis motor sockets had badly bent pins - this was clearly damage inflicted before being packed, which is disappointing QA from Creality. The BL touch kept flashing and the printer wouldn't home, until I re-adjusted the core by turning 1/3rd turn clockwise. Eccentric rollers on X axis very loose.I recommend replacing stock bowden and couplers. Also the silent board upgrade is a 'must have', it's a noisy printer without this, rather exasperating to have to fork out more money for what should be a stock option. And if you're not confident at replacing the controller board, that's another pain. Would gladly have paid more for the silent board pre-installed. And even after this the PSU fan is pretty noisy, you'd have to replace that as well if you wanted to bring the noise level right down - Ender 3 with dampers is MUCH quieter.Print quality is good but there are some subtle striations and surface roughness that my Ender 3 doesn't produce - pretty subtle and you wouldn't really notice them if this was your only printer. Am experimenting with flow settings to see if this helps but not sure. May be innate to the dual Z leadscrew design. Needs a couple of mm more retraction than Ender 3 I think due longer bowden. Some annoying software issues. Can't see the standard filenames from Cura; you have to shorten to no more than 15 characters, weird because Ender 3 doesn't have this problem. If you fit a micro SD to SD adaptor there's no refresh option in UI so it won't pick up a card change which makes the whole idea pointless, you have to unplug and replug the micro SD cable before it'll see the change. So will probably have to set up Octoprint. No flow rate option from UI which is very basic, you can adjust print speed and nozzle and bed temp only.No options for anything more advanced like E-Steps, jerk etc - you'd need to reflash the board with custom firmware and the screen is closed source so you'll also be unnecessarily replacing that as well if you choose to do this.Levelling process is a bit tedious but the bed should stay stable for long periods so not a big deal, but z offset isn't available unless you're actually printing which is annoying.Silly eco mode setting turns off heated bed during print; disable it.On bright side, managed to print TPU with stock extruder. Glass bed is nice and flat. Very very solidly built and I was pleased to see that when I carefully checked the Z axis leadscrew alignment, that these line up nicely with the motors and that the bed moves freely on the steel support rails without binding. So I think if you want the large area, it's pretty good, the slight surface finish issues would be imperceptible for anything reasonable in size, and for tall and slender items like lithophanes, the fact that the bed doesn't move on the X and Y planes means that you should get better results and less chance of models breaking away from the build plate.PS: I use 0.5mm thermal silicone pads (100 X 100mm) X 5 to hold the glass bed and not clips. They allow you to peel it off (put an old CD underneath the plate and gently lift), transfer heat, and hold the glass bed securely. Use them on my E3 as well.

Great printer & larfe print volume
Excellent printer, easy to put together & started printing great prints straight away. People often blame their printer when things go wrong but from my experience it is usually due to incorrect slicer settings rather than an inherent printer problem. If you initially spend some time getting the bed nicely levelled & the nozzle height correct you should have no problems with the printer.

Ear plugs needed
It seems like a nice printer, buy boy oh boy is it loud. If you want a quiet printer this is not the one, shamebas it seems a nice printer.

BUYER BEWARE. Bricked after a few months
Update: Comgrow3D reached out to me shortly after writing the original review. They sent a new motherboard at no cost to me. It now works great again. Highly recommend this printer and vendor. Most of the time this printer just sits in my house not doing anything because I work out of town a lot. Saying that, it hasn't had much use since I purchased in the fall/winter or 2020.It does work wonderfully, when it works. I got it dialed in and working very nicely. Unfortunately, now when I turn it on it's stuck on the boot screen and there's nothing I can do with it. There's very little to no support for these printers especially if you buy from amazon. You're basically left on your own once passed the return window.BUYER BEWARE

Support
