It comes in a very nice box with a ton of stuff. I will probably reuse the box in the future to give gifts in instead of for storage though. I often have to pack my things together tightly the attached bow and ribbon would get ruined within a month if I used it for storage. If I'm buying this for myself, I would prefer something flat-sided, maybe a nice print to keep my punch tools in.The Instructions were on one side of a small sheet and does cover how to load and punch with the larger needles. As a gift item though it's more likely to go to a beginner who would also need to know eg. how small a thread to load the smaller needles with, type of fabric to use with them and how to use them without bending them. They will need an instructional book or look up tutorials and classes.

Absolutely love it. Great kit and storage. It's cute. Keeps all my needlework needs in one place.

As others mentioned, this kit comes beautifully packaged but with no instructions at all. The large, adjustable punch needle is fine to use if you have larger-sized yarn. The small, non-adjustable punch needles are useless. I cannot figure out how to get the freely packaged needle tips onto a handle, and the sizes are quite small, even for size 2 yarn. I don't think this is beginner-friendly at all. The hoops it came with are fine and hold muslin cloth nicely. I'm not sure how durable this will be. I'd look elsewhere for the price.

I normally do not write reviews. Having said that, I feel the need to speak out on this punch needle kit.DO NOT BUY!!!I am and an accomplished sewer and needlework artist. I purchased this for my niece and it is terrible.Firstly, NO INSTRUCTIONS!Secondly, it is cheaply made. I guess I should have expected this for the price point.Thirdly, steer clear of this kit. Spend a bit more money and purchase a more professional one. Even if you are a beginner. Good quality tools will be worth the higher price when you are learning it will be fun and you will be more apt to continue enjoying needlework for years to come.ZERO STARS!
