Good Mix
Red Sea always has the best products. Only issue is it’s expensive. You pay for quality though. Easy to mix.

Awesome salt. Read review
I've been in the hobby since 1988. In this amount of time I've used at least a dozen salts and never written a review.I love this hobby and want to provide the best environment I can.I also want honest reviews. Non biased. From people who have used the products. There are lots of you out there with amazing experience in this hobby. This review may not be for you. For those who are new or just want to try something else just read along.I started with instant ocean. I still keep some for emergencies. Mixes well and is pretty consistent. You can buy it anywhere. Not my go to but nothing wrong with it. Just thought there has to be something better.Reef crystals. Not a fan. Pretty dirty. Has anti caking agents. Will dirty any mixing bucket fast.Coralife. Used many years ago but only with fish. Never had a problem with it. Mixes well but haven't used it in years. It's cheap.Reef salt by seachem. Probably my favorite but they don't make it anymore.Vibrant sea. Love seachem but this salt doesn't mix well. It's cheap for what you get and I'm sure it's professional salt-its seachem but I have had no luck with it.Brightwell. Smells wierd. Gets great reviews everywhere but I've used it 4 different times with bad results. My tank doesn't like it. Low in ALK. Recommended by many just not me.Kent marine. I love this salt but I can't use it anymore. Just not consistent enough from batch to batch. Calcium is not consistent.Hopefully that helps if you were wondering. Now to red sea coral pro.Gotta use ro water. Mix it in a bucket with a powerhead. Don't mix for more than 4 hours. It mixes clean. Don't have to wait for it to change water. Consistent. Perfect water quality. Best salt I've ever used. Period.Tank has never looked better.Yeah this little bucket is spendy. Yeah the bucket sucks. Might even be brokenBut this is hands down the best salt I've ever used.

I secretly call it "awesomesauce"
Having been a reef hobbyist for almost 10 years I've tested and used quite a few salt mixes and to date Red Sea's Coral Pro ("RSCP") salt mix has been the best and most cost efficient of them all.First, mixing couldn't be easier. I typically use exactly 1/2 cup for every 1 gallon of RODI water to achieve the 1.025 salinity my corals crave. RSCP mixes quickly, usually within 30 minutes, and without calcium precipitate found in many other brands. If you find it is leaving a residue then you have mixed for too long. Instructions indicate 30 minutes to *no longer* than 2 hours ... that is spot-on.Next, RSCP is *natural* and not synthetic and contains about every needed trace element you can think of as well as boosted foundation elements such as calcium, magnesium and carbonates. When mixed properly with 0 TDS RODI water I typically achieve at or near the advertised levels: ~450-500 Ca, ~1350-1400 Mg, ~pH 8.3 and ~K 400.Finally comes cost. Yes, RSCP is a bit pricier than others but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Because of its ease of use (I no longer have to prepare water 24 hours in advance of a water change. Now, I begin mixing when I start my maintenance) and elevated levels of foundation and trace elements I no longer have the need to dose additional supplements for regular operation of my reef tank. That in effect saves me quite a few $$ per month. If you are running FOWLR (fish only with live rock) this is probably not the best mix for you however, for those of us with corals such as SPS, LPS and softies that literally suck the elements out of the water and inverts that crave calcium this mix can't be beat. When visitors ask me, "what's the secret sauce to your reef?, I smile and point at this bucket. (cornie I know!!! But true)

Great product and seller
This is a great salt! Especially for hard corals. I’ve ordered it several times, but my last order was damaged during shipping so the seller promptly sent me a replacement. Really fantastic seller, looking forward to buying from them again!

4x more expensive for similar results
I had been using coralife in my tank without my issues but thought I would give this a try in my established 120 gal reef tank to see if it impacted coral growth. I am fairly laissez faire, doing 10% tank changes every 2-3 weeks, and adjusting parameters quarterly based on ATI water testing. I run a phytotank algae reactor, and in sump skimmer that I clean every week. After 6 months, I didn’t notice any significant difference in my ATI water testing results, need for micro dosing, or coral or anemone growth. I did notice I needed 6 half-cups per 5 gallons to maintain salinity, where corallife and instant ocean needed 5 half-cups per 5 gallons. It seems most salts have very high reviews, but I suspect that when a reefer is changing their salt, they are sort of doing a second take and optimizing a lot of other things. So was it the new light schedule, the new filter, or the new refugium. Salt for salt, this performed as well as much cheaper instant ocean and coral life. For return on investment, I found the money was much better spent on the $100 phytotank algae reactor which was a real game changer for my tank health.

Horrible shipping and packaging
Shipping is a disaster. No seal on the bucket. No seal on the bag. And the bucket is cracked. Disaster. Just buy local. Salt everywhere
