Q: When it is cooked, is it soft like rice?

Yes, pretty much. It is great to use like rice. Leftover cooked millet also makes a wonderful addition to little pancakes for breakfast.

Q: Can this be used as grass seed

Why would anyone want to do that??? Just buy real grass seed and use this for what it's intended for...cereal and/or bread!

Q: Has this millet been washed to remove saponins?

I don't know but I always rinse my rice and grains when I cook them.
