Excellent quality ice cream scooper w/trigger. Good value. highly recommend!
This old-fashioned ice cream scooper is an excellent quality scoop that features a convenient trigger mechanism. It is cleverly designed, well made from stainless steel, and has a polished finish. The weight is just right, and since the stainless steel is commercial grade, it is rust-resistant. I had never seen anything like this before, and I instantly fell in love with it. It works exactly as described—it's fantastic! The scooper is comfortable to hold, and the trigger releases smoothly. You can use it not only for ice cream, but also for any frozen treats you want to serve. Priced at USD $19.98 (at the time of this review) it is a good value. I highly recommend it! Thank you for reading my review! I hope you found it helpful. My reviews aim to provide potential buyers with a comprehensive understanding of the product. I strive to share as much information as possible, often including pictures and sometimes videos. My secondary goal is to help sellers enhance their products while highlighting their features. Most reviews are written within a few weeks of receiving the product. I will edit my review if necessary after some time has passed.

Nostalgic and seems well made!
Works well. We used it on very solid ice cream and some that was softer and it worked easily. The problem is non commercial sized ice cream containers, as you get lower into the carton, it's a bit tricky with this type of handle. It's nostalgic and seems to be well constructed. It is a heavier weight which I appreciate, and it has the cute little Thrifty's logo on it. The grip is nice especially for firmer icecreams. I have a harder time with a thumb lever and this has a full hand lever to release the icecream. The scoop size is about the same as a standard ice cream disher. It definitely all lends to great scoopablity! This would make a really fun gift to someone who, like me used to go to Thrifty's as a kid.

Love it!
Works perfectly. Very sturdy. I saw reviews saying it fell apart after a while. The only thing I can imagine is there is a spring with a screw in the release handle. In the future, if the screw becomes loose it can easily be tightened using a small wrench. The device is sturdy and well soldered. Very well made! Having fun making ice cream cones every night!

Dip, scooper and warm water first.
We used our Ice cream scooper for the first time expecting it to scoop up the ice cream and push it out easily just like the old days at Thrifty‘s. It did not work out so well. We have not tried it a second time yet, however, we believe that the problem is that you need to dip the scooper in a bowl of warm water first before you use it. That will help to go into the ice cream easier and come out of the scooper easier. Quality is good, but I don’t believe it’s as heavy duty as the ones I remember as a kid. I do remember that they soaked them in water between uses. That’s why we thought warm water would help. I guess I should have tried that before I posted this review and I could have confirmed if it worked. It’s still pretty cool to have an official Thrifty’s scooper. It even says Thrifty’s on the package.😊 Good old childhood memories. 😊

works great. Amazon manipulates reviews so this may not show
Easy to use with just a twist & a pull of the trigger. This is my fav ice cream scooper I've ever used. Hopefully it'll hold up. Most metal products used these days are of thin metal like this scooper. Note: Amazon manipulates reviews if it's not to their liking or being payed off by sellers product so this may not show.

Brings Back Sweet Memories
This Thrifty Ice Cream Scooper instantly brought back so many childhood memories! I love the nostalgic feel of making those perfect cylinder-shaped scoops just like the old ice cream counters used to do. That said, it works best with firmer ice cream. When the ice cream is too soft, it can stick inside the scooper and make it harder to get that clean cylinder shape. Also, since the scoop just sits on the cone instead of being pressed in, it can come loose if you're not careful, more than once I almost lost a scoop mid-lick! 😅 Still, I really like this scooper and will be using it from now on. It’s more than just a kitchen tool, it’s a little trip down memory lane. Highly recommend for anyone who grew up with Thrifty ice cream or wants to recreate that classic experience.

Works, But Frustrating to Use
This ice cream scoop does its job…kind of. The stainless steel feels sturdy, but the scoop creates a weird shape in the ice cream, and it only works if the ice cream is at exactly the right temperature—too hard or too soft, and it’s a struggle. It’s okay in a pinch, but not my favorite scoop for regular use.

Best part is the springy sound it makes
High quality stainless steel construction. Requires less effort to use than the typical spoon shaped ice cream scoop. The best part is that familiar springy sound it makes which makes you feel like you’re at the Thrifty ice cream counter.
