Made it to alaska
The sellers shipped this all the way to alaska for me. It arrived in perfect condition. Perhaps the weights could be glazed so they don't take on flavor, but we will see whether they do. I'm currently making a batch of sauerkraut with it. The english translation of the german is pretty poor, so i'm glad I can read german!

Quality fermentation crock
The Nik Schmitt Fermentation crock came well packaged - nothing was going to be damaged!A trusted name and it is difficult to get a water fermentation crock that is not from China- Nik Schmitt is from Germany. I like the off white so I can see what is going on the the crock much better than the darker colored crocks. I am using for fermenting vegetables, and kimchi. I have seen where you can ferment limes and that is what I'm going to try next!

Quality Build
The crock is well built and I have used to to pickle cucumbers and onions. My only complaint is that the weights are porous (unglazed) and retain the smell of the last thing you fermented. If they manufacturer fixed this it would be a five star product.

temperature maybe???
I was trying to make sauerkraut, it called for 2 heads. Way too much, after 3 weeks it didn't ferment well and we had to through it out! Will try again, with 1 head and different location for more temperature control.

Nik Schmitt Fermenting Crock
My husband is the chef around here and he does Kraut and cans it, yummy! This crock is made in Germany π©πͺ and is very very nice. You can't find them at this price point just anywhere. No worries about the glaze having lead like the ones from China, you get no bad taste from it either unless you don't like Kraut, he's also made Kimche which will never happen again, woo the smell! So we highly recommend this crock.

Great pickling crock
Great size great quality only downside is the lip where the moat for the water is but that's a necessary evil. Did kimchi out of it the first batch pickles on the second both turned out fantastic
