Fulton HDSTC 0101 HDSTC0101 Heavy Duty Spare Tire Carrier

This is a sturdy tire holder that was easy to install. This was one of the few I could find that was compatible with a 6 lug tire and it works great! The tire stays tight to the mount and the mount stays tight to the trailer frame, there is zero wobble and I have not had to retighten anything so far but I probably only have about 250 miles on it. Update: 4 years later and well over 2000 miles on the trailer and all is still working good. No sure if this will help anybody but this works great with my Ramlin trailer and 1999 Nautique Super Sport. The tire does not interfere with loading or unloading the boat and I have been on several ramps that have a variety of water depth and steepness. I wanted the tire as far forward as it could go so I cut down the bottom of the crash pad a little bit so the tire would fit.

I checked several brands and websites before purchasing this spare tire mount. Two things stood out; the speed and ease of Amazon and the full product description, including what frame sizes it would accomodate. However, when I received the mount I was pleasantly surprised! This tire mount is much sturdier than what was depicted! Even on the other sites the standard photo seems to be in all of them. It is built super strong and looks good doing so. I used it for my spare tire on my boat trailer and because of the five inch vertical frame height, this mount fit as advertised; most will not. Great product and super fast shipping.

This mount is claimed to be heavy duty but you can see the wheel moving around as you hit bumps in the road. Nothing has failed yet but it looks like it will.

This carrier mounted on trailer very easily and looks good as well. Very solid compared to some I also looked at before purchasing. Bolts that came with it weren't long enough to get lug nuts on so had to home depot and buy a couple longer carriage bolts. Was a little frustrating but all in all not that big of a deal and only a couple bucks. My wheel is just an aluminum wheel so I was a bit surprised. If you have a very thin galvanized spare wheel I imagine they might work. Perfect other than the short carriage bolts that come with it.

You will likely note that this is rather different from anything else of its kind. But having used some of the others, this sucker is clearly better and at a very reasonable price. Yes, there are cheaper ones, and as long as nobody ever touches them you're fine. But in the real world eventually someone sits on, leans against, stands on or otherwise abuses them and the cheap ones fold like tin cans. Just junk. This thing is a beast. Ridiculously easy to install (the guy who said ten minutes must have stopped for lunch) and the hardware is good quality, again not the garbage most of this stuff comes with. You will not be sorry.

Heavy duty. Mounted my 205/75/14 tire on galvanized rim to it on an Easy loader boat trailer.

Attaching the spare tire carrier to the trailer was no problem. But mounting the spare tire was difficult. First off, the carriage bolts supplied were 1 and 1/2” long and a 2” long one would have been easier to work with. Trying to mount the tire on two moving bolts is tricky. Then the lock washer was just too small and would not go over the threads even after attempting to flatten it. I had to go to Home Depot and buy a 2” carriage bolt and a right sized lock washer to finally mount the spare. Bad engineering. So buy yourself the 2” carriage bolt, it will save you some frustration. For added piece of mind, you can also get a lock nut.

Looks heavy duty. Does not fit the 5-lug pattern on my spare trailer tire. I will probably grind bigger mounting holes in it.

Nice Product. Solid Construction. 5 years on boat trailer with no issues. Easily placement to allow for proper clearance of the hitch.

I have bought two over the past few years. One for my salt water boat trailer and one for my utility trailer. Easy install. Won't rust. Solid.

For anyone like me who is/was looking for a spare mount that supported 6 lags with 5 1/2 spacing between lags this product unfortunately does NOT work. I had to ship it back but it did look well built. I hope this review helps. Cheers!
