How to Play Chess for Kids: Simple Strategies to Win Review: Actually great for any age chess player. - Actually impressed with this book. As a long time chess player adult, I read it first before gifting to my nephew (age 11). Easy to understand. Detailed with illustrations for all moves. I learned a few things that I didn't know. Gives a little history and has some neat facts too. My nephew pulls it out and points out things when we play. Really a good learning tool for all ages. Well worth it. Large print, durable too. 5 stars! Review: Introducing Chess to Non-Chess Players - This is a very user friendly book to teach chess to anyone that does not already know how to play and it can refresh some of the rules chess players may have forgotten. The print is large( eye friendly for the young and the older generations) and the author is easy to read and makes fun colloquialisms throughout the book. The book is full of illustrations, chapter summaries, quizzes to practice what you just read, glossary of chess terms and several resources to further your knowledge of chess in book and website form. The author teaches you to win at chess. The book is only 144 pages long from first page to the last page, so a very short read. This is a wonderful informative book.

Great way for kids to learn chess
I've played for 55+ yrs, coached chess at area elementary schools, proctored tournaments, etc. so I know the game & how to teach it. Got these for my out of state grandkids to learn in my absence. I teach them when I'm there, but this book gives them a reference to go to when they've questions. It is easy to follow, and is very similar in technique & method that I've used for years with hundreds of students.

Love the book! I am still working through it, I am trying to beat my 8 year old grandson who is better than me and I'm trying to teach him the legal game and rules of chess. We have both learned so much so far. It's a journey becoming a good player. but this book is helping us on the pathway. I would recommend

I highly recommend this book for children and adults learning chess for the first time. It is really well written and extremely easy to understand and follow. I bought it for my 11 year old who expressed an interest in chess and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning along with him, using this book. I always found the idea of learning chess a bit intimidating but this book is wonderful - clear, friendly and colourful! A big thumbs up from me and my 11 year old! Thank you!!
