Sociolinguistics: The Study Of Speakers' Choices 2nd Edition

I am not a sociolinguist and I'm honestly more interested in analytical linguistics. However, the introductory sociolinguistics class that I was required to take used this book, and I found it to be a good text for the course. Coulmas uses a wide variety of examples and published results from sociolinguistic studies to explain many aspects of how language intersects society. It's not something I'd go out of my way to read, but I appreciated it for what it is.
