A Must Have For Any Homeowner
I have used this amazing product for more applications then I can remember. It provides a permanent repair. Easy to mold and adhere to anything. Hardens rock solid. Easy to paint and blend to the job. This stuff fixes everything from rotting wood, to rusted plumbing fixtures, damaged wheel rims, Hot tubs, concrete pavers, etc. Great as an adhesive as well. Repair anything and you'll never have to worry about it again.

I was able to easily seal up the scratches with this product
This putty works extremely well. I have used it for two automotive applications so far. My oil pan was leaking due to a few deep scratches. I was able to easily seal up the scratches with this product. It becomes hard after about 1 minute, so you need to work relatively fast, but it is perfect for use in an area if you don't have a long time to wait or can't clamp well. It has been about a month and it is bone dry under my oil pan still. I also used it to fix a plastic piece that held my throttle cable in place, which had snapped (see picture). Again, it was perfect because there is tension on the throttle cable and I had no way of clamping while the glue dried. I held the putty in place for about a minute, and it was strong enough for me to let go without the tight cable moving the newly repaired unit. Highly recommend for just about any use.

the world's strongest bond
The J-B Weld Company was founded in 1969 by Sam and Mary Bonham.Sam had discovered a need for a “cold weld” product to use in his truck service garage, instead of traditional torch welding. Working with a Texas A&M chemist, he formulated an original “tougher than steel” two-part epoxy and named it J-B Weld JB Weld claims to be "the world's strongest bond" and while I cannot confirm their claims, I can say that the product works. I've used JB Weld for numerous applications and never been disappointed. This tube comes with 2oz of epoxy putty (consistency of silly putty basically). You mix it together (two compounds) and then apply as needed. It sets up quickly and cures in 1hr. I generally think it's wise to let it cure overnight if you can but in 2-3 hrs it's hard as a rock. Most recently I used JB Weld to fit a rust spot in an old cast iron tub. I applied it consistent with the instructions, sanded it down, and painted over it with a white enamel and it looks almost as good as new. Also good for boats, cars, some plumbing applications, etc.

Great Stuff
I have used various brands of epoxy putty sticks over the years and they all are amazing. The JB Weld product is no exception. Cut off a length with a knife and blend for a minute or so. Mold it and stick it to whatever and wherever you want. It hardens like steel. I find the best blending technique to be an initial push together and using my hands I just roll it into a long thin (1/4") string. I then fold this string onto itself and twist and roll again. I repeat this rolling and twisting process several times until the colors are properly blended. When the colors are blended and you have a single uniform color the product is ready for use. My most recent project was to repair a rusting gas line. The line wasn't broken but was badly rusted at the ground level. I brass wire brushed the loose rust and then applied about 1/3rd of a stick of the JB Weld around the pipe and pressed it in place. Before it had completely set I wrapped and pressed in a length of drywall mesh tape. I then applied another third of a stick and repeated the process. I eventually used the entire stick to secure the pipe. While the drywall mesh tape was not intended for this purpose it did assist with my molding efforts to maintain an even application around the pipe. The repair job is now as hard as steel and should last a very long time. The next day two of my neighbor's kids came over and were having difficulty with their newly hand-made racing cars. The kit supplied axles kept falling out of the wood block body. One of the cars didn't meet the weight requirement for an upcoming race. Luckily I had purchased two tubes of JB Weld and used it to better affix the axles. I also mounted an old 35mm film canister to the one that didn't meet its weight requirement and we filled it with nuts and washers until it was heavy enough. Epoxy putty may not get used every day but it is really handy when you need it. It seems to store well in the original tube as I have used previously opened tubes after a year or more without a problem.

Where has this stuff been my whole life!???!!!!!!!!!!!
Let me start by saying...I LOVE THIS STUFF!! I mean it! It is my favorite purchase in a long, long, long time! What it is: it is putty stuff shaped like a tootsie roll...or a cow tale (if you are familar with that candy!) In the center of the cylindrical putty, is another darker colored compound. You cut off a slice the size you want and knead it in your fingers until it is all the same color. Then you use it to fill holes, fix cracks, stick stuff together (yes it is adhesive, too) etc. I had it one day and I fixed an old drilled hole in ceramic tile, a hole in a concrete wall, a piece of molding on my garage door, a wheel on a footstool, and a chip on a lamp. I am glad I bought 3 tubes! It is like sticky poster putty, but it dries hard (doesn't shrink) and permanently. Ready for sanding or painting. I admit I have even used White Out and nail polish (on the red lamp) to paint over it! Those little bottles of appliance paint are nice for tiles, too because they are shiny. It really sticks to every surface I have tried. And you can shape it, not like drippy glue. I like that it not only sticks stuff together, but fills too, so if you are missing a little piece of something broken, you can form another one or fill in the space! I am even contemplating using it to make a little missing finial on an antique clock. It does dry dark dark gray (almost black), so you have to paint it to match. I wish it came in a white color. But it dries HARD...like cement....not crumbly like joint compound, though. You have to work somewhat quickly, so if you mixed too much and look around for other projects while it is in your hand, it starts to get hard in about 10 minutes. I just love this stuff and find myself looking for it often. Really does work like it says! You will find many uses for it! edit: I did indeed use it as a "sculpting" compound. My kids have this silly yard decoration that looks like a rabbit. And the grass cutter dude knocked it over and broke one of the ears off. We couldn't find the ear anywhere. So I took a blob of this and kept shaping it as it dried. When it is too wet is it a little sticky, but as it dried it becomes more like play-doh. And ta-da!!! A little touch up with appliance paint (it was the only white I had!) and their little bunny is just like new!

Great for fixing a dumb mistake
I was trying to replace the front spark plug on my Suzuki SV650 which requires the removal of the radiator bolt. I wasn't getting the leverage I needed so I removed the thermo switch but forgot to replace the radiator bolt and subsequently stripped the thermo switch screw (stupid aluminum threads). After doing some research I decided to try the SteelStik. I figured the putty would allow me snip off the right amount and the quick setting would allow me to manually apply the right amount of pressure. There really isn't a good place for me to clamp the screw to the rad. I checked pressure and temperature limits of the coolant and they fit under the specs of the SteelStik. When I received the putty stick, I broke off some and had a very hard time in the nitrile gloves. The putty kept sticking but eventually I got it going. However, I took too long in the mixing process and it started to harden in my hand lol. So I took a little more out and worked a little quicker. I rolled into a worm and carefully put it around the screw after sanding it with my wife's emery board. After about 1 minute I left it until the next day. I have since rode my bike over 50 miles and have seen no signs of leakage. Update 11/18/2013 It's been 5000 miles on the bike and I have had no problems. Highly recommended.

Best for filling and molding
This putty is the premiere product for filling and molding jobs. While ordinary epoxy hardens to a material with a bit of give, this product becomes as hard as stone(it then becomes odorless as well, if that worries you). Once it hardens, the only way to form it is by grinding, filing or drilling. You can also sand it and such, but it is too hard to scrape. It must be well mixed by pressing into a wad and folding over and over dozens of times. Epoxy that is not well mixed is useless. I recently used it to tighten a wobbly kitchen faucet handle by pressing a bit of it into the socket of the handle to build up the sides of the socket and then pressing it onto the valve spindle(making sure it doesn't adhere to the spindle since I want to be able to remove the handle). It hardens in over five minutes, but for high pressure applications(like the faucet) let it harden for at least an hour. Full hardness is reached is several hours. This product may not be the best choice for thin film surface adhesion, like gluing a kick-stand onto a bicycle. For that purpose, glues based on the Crazy-Glue formula are best, such as Gorilla Glue(which is a thickened version of Crazy-Glue) and such work should be clamped overnight. If you are using this for adhesion, make sure the surfaces are clean and, if possible, sanded. Also be sure to apply the putty as quickly as possible, since as it sets, it becomes less sticky very quickly.

works
I use this stuff alot I have a small maintinance buisness and it helps fix all kinds of things when used within it's limits. Used about 5 packages today pretty much fixing a broken garage door with this, some angle iron and some machine screws. have used it for other things, held my wife's car exhaust bracket up for a few years when it fell before we traded in the car where it should still be holding. UI have even ued it in areas where i needed to retap mounts for screws when plastic/metal breaks, works fine and lasts decades, note it is not as strong as a real weld though, know the limits of any product I would not trust this for say holding together the fram for a vehicle or even an engine mount on something as small as a go cart, but as long as it isn't holding more than 100# or so and not being directly banged on./ torqued this is a great product
