Not Quite the Youtube Videos, but Very Good
JD's style for demonstrating tying these knots on his YouTube channel "Tying It All Together" is perfect: not too fast, no irritating voiceover, and a polite pause at every step to clearly show what has happened and how things should look. The book gives up a little bit to video. Being able to see how the hands go from step to step helps more than you might expect, but still the book does a very good job of showing the pauses. Sometimes you have to peer at a photo for a minute to figure out what happened...but nothing has come up indecipherable, so it must be working, right?Ever since I figured out how to make these fusion ties, I sometimes whip out a couple while watching TV. My mom was so interested in them I invented a new one (really just a narrow hand-woven band with a tearaway core for rapid deployment), wrapped it and a copy of the book in a box and sent them to her for her birthday. THAT's how highly I regard the book: it's good enough to give to my mom.

A beautifully crafted book chock full of creativity!
To get the most from this book- review it first! I accidentally became a fan of J.D Lenzen the author of Paracord Fusion Ties. While browsing Youtube videos, I came across his videos for paracord bracelets. I watched, thought "I can do that" and bought some paracord. Lo, the next day I had in hand a paracord bracelet just as the author had demonstrated! As a left-handed person I often have to turn things around in my brain to make things work because I start with my left hand, not my right. Having the book helps offset that need to spatially re-arrange things, making tying easier and faster for me.Even the most difficult tie in this book is easy to follow, and the author has provided videos of almost all of his fusion tie creations. The layout of the book is simple: you'll find a list of websites related to paracord supplies; a brief discussion on sizing bracelets, cutting and sealing ties; and a very important explaination of "twists and terms". Each tie is shown in clear bright colors from beginning to end.

I Need More Paracord
Our church youth group started making bracelets/key fobs/etc. to sell as a Relay for Life fundraiser. Most of the kids knew how to do a basic cobra weave (solomon bar), and were getting bored with it, so I bought this book. The instructions and pictures are very clear and most of the knots and weaves turn out well. We're ready for volume 2 to come out.The ties in this book do NOT require that you buy buckles for your bracelets. One of the things I like about Lenzen's technique is that you use loops and knots to fasten bracelets. Nothing to break or to pinch your skin.Keep track of how much paracord you use on each item. In places he calls for 4' and 5' would make life alot easier. In other places, he calls for 7' and you end up with over 2' of scrap left over. Not a big deal, but we started keeping track.

plenty of pics and instructions
As a gift to my husband, I purchased Volume 1 & 2, along with a variety of paracord and a few other tools, gadgets, and a sack to store it all in. We do paracord projects once in awhile, but he has greater focus and patience so will get much more use from the books. We watch the youtube videos by the author so it was fun to be able to buy books to help guide us in some paracord endeavors. Golorful pictures, helpful instructions.

Lotsoknots !!
Great book. even better photos !! you have to learn the rope lingo, which makes sense..... much better than..... "take the end that is in your left hand, loop it over and around the other one.... now, take the other end of that first one, and put it over and under and then through that tiny hole.... then gently place your right foot on the loose end of the second one....... pull snugly and there you have it..!"The glossary of terms is very informative and helpful !! The books arrived in perfect condition!! no bends or dings.... nice.I bought 2, one for me and one for a friend's son.... he plays High School Football, and I'm sure he'll make a few things for his groupies....Speedy delivery too !!

If you are interested in tying your own paracord bracelets; then this is the resource for you.
I bought this book for the primary purpose of learning how to tie paracord bracelets. One the features that I found the most helpful to a beginner like myself was the use of pictures correlated to specific step by step instructions. The author utilized contrasting colors of paracords to help you visualize the instructional steps. I also like the section of the book devoted to paracord supplies and suppliers via the Internet. This was helpful because there aren't a lot of craft stores, etc. that carry paracord supplies. There are tons of cool colors and options for paracord bracelets. This book and the resources provided allow the reader a great tool for exploring paracord possibilities. I can't wait for another book from the author about this topic.

Interesting knots
Update: while I still stand by pretty much all that I said before I've had a better chance to make several of the knots from the book now. There are several instances where perspective changes and I was left wondering where I went wrong, but I guess there is only so much one can do with the book without ending up with too many pictures or steps. I've come to really like the book, and even bought volume 2 now. This is a good starting point for knot tying, but it isnt perfect.(Original)My initial impression from the book was not good. The steps for making the diamond knots felt like they could have used better / more pictures. I think if you invest more time in practicing the knots it would start to make more sense, but initially it was very confusing for me trying to figure out especially with a little bit of a learning curve to the terms used to described how to. The Solomon straps I had previously made, and if I can figure out how to better make the diamond knots it will really improve how I make them and how the end product looks.I bought the Kindle edition of the book, and the pictures are very clear resolution on my device

This is the best book I have found so far to learn new patterns without fusing the paracord. I have had so much fun learning new patterns.
