Hypnia 12 inch Memory Foam Mattress, Single Size 3ft x 6ft3

We've had our 12" double for about 5 years now and it's still firm and comfortable, though it is worth pointing out that both me and my wife both prefer a firm mattress. This is what we searched for 5 years ago and we were not disappointed.I don't personally find the mattress too warm and in fact the wife usually has a hot water bottle with her most nights, even in the warmer months.We got a bargain when we bought this and in fact it was one of the deciding factors at the time but I can honestly say it was the best money I've spent. We're in the process of buying a new bed and we almost decided on a king size so would have bought the king mattress, but we eventually settled back on the double so it'll be around for a while yet.I've not lost its shape or firmness, though it would be interesting to try a new one side by side, but I've not noticed enough change that I've thought about replacing it.We'd bought an £800 mattress from the store prior to this one and only lasted a few years before it turned into porridge and became uncomfortable.In short:I recommend this mattress if you prefer a firm one.I would buy another if I needed oneThey are great value for money but you will need to buy deep fitted sheets, now more widely available that 5 years ago

It seems that you are likely to either love or hate this mattress, based on my own and other users' experiences.My wife and I went for this Hypnia model, as it seemed to be offered at a good price and most reviews were positive. This is what we have found:-1) The smell after unpacking lingered for several weeks and gave us sore throats.2) Two free memory foam pillows were supplied with the mattress: one had a stained cover and there was no reply from the manufacturer when they were informed of the defect.3) The mattress feels comfortable when first getting into bed, but once the foam has compressed, it is difficult to turn over or change position. On a positive note, if one of us gets up during the night, it doesn't disturb the other.4) The worst aspect is that the mattress is far too warm: we are always having to fling the covers off to cool down. I know this is a personal thing, but if you like a cool bed, then please be aware. My wife can't get a decent night's sleep because of the heat. Even in winter, I sweat buckets and this has stained the supposedly washable cover. The washing instructions state: wash at 30 degrees and do not use detergent. Just what are you supposed to use to clean it properly?Having suffered enough discomfort, we have now purchased a conventional pocket-sprung mattress (which can also be turned over, unlike the Hypnia). I suppose that the Hypnia could come in handy for making car-washing sponges, if it can't be sold second-hand.

My wife and I have been enjoying for this mattress for 4 years. Frankly, it's so comfortable, we now find sleeping in any other bed noticeably uncomfortable. We'd rather sleep at home than in posh hotels!It did have a chemical odour that meant that we had to air it for 3 days before we used it but it dissipated gradually after that.We recently bought a single 8" Hypnia to replace single spare bedroom mattress. We've only had it a month and it's only been used a couple of times but it appears to be as good as the king size 12". The single mattress had virtually no odour.

I bought this king size mattress based on the excellent reviews (bar 1) as I wouldn't normally buy a mattress "unseen". Wanting memory foam due to the alleged "support" offered by them, I thought I'd be getting a really comfortable, supportive mattress. After 3 weeks, I'm now looking for a new mattress! This one is extremely hard, if you move to a new position the "dent" in the memory foam bounces back so slowly you actually fall back into it or end up lying on ridges. I am very slim so it's not happening because I'm any heavier than anybody else.I know it could take a while to get used to a new mattress and I think I've tested it long enough - lack of sleep and back/neck ache are my morning usuals now.Recommendation: don't buy without testing first.

We've had it for one week now. It arrived within 2 days of ordering in a heavy but not huge box. Once expanded, it is a really big (deep) mattress. The smell disappeared after 2-3 days and is incredibly good to sleep on. The pillows are good as well - but too small to fill any normal pillow cover.I've got a dodgy lower back and can suffer badly from a sprung mattress. This mattress is very comfortable and supports all the parts of the body during sleep. The price is much cheaper than most of the others I'd seen - so was a bit dubious when I ordered it but I'm very pleasantly surprised so far.

ordered this item back at the beginning of June and have waited until now to write the review. Very pleased with this item as i have suffered for some time with a sore back in the morning and since using this mattress those problems have gone. very firm mattress that gives a perfect nights sleep.only thing i would say is ensure you remove your old mattress prior to unwrapping as you need to get it onto the bed before it expands otherwise it can become a handful as i found out. worth every penny and have since ordered the single mattress for the other beds in the house.

Received this item in a completely wrecked state. I detest writing negative things about anything but this has made me really unhappy. I spent ages choosing this mattress and a bed frame. Spent 4 days of my leave decorating my bedroom ( a wee for me and my darling for Christmas). Room looking great, mattress delivered, I could have broke my heart, it looked as though it had been stored at the back of a warehouse somewhere dirty and damp. The vacuum pack the mattress was in had been torn so the box was expanding almost at bursting point. My lovely frame is coming tomorrow Saturday, and I've got no new mattress to put on. I immediately printed out a returns slip and am waiting for item to be collected. I will post any positive or negative comments on the service I receive. I am gutted.
