Mount Plate Adapter for GoPro Hero 7 6 5 4 3+,DJI Osmo Action,Yi 4K Gimbal Handheld, Universal Switch Mount Plate for Zhiyun/Feiyu/DJI Osmo Handheld Gimbal Accessories

I mounted my GoPro Hero 7 Black to both a Zhiyun Smooth Q and a Smooth 4. Although there are no instructions, it really on mounts properly one way, and it even gives a few millimeters of latitude for balancing. The unit is sturdy metal (not plastic) and seems plenty tough. There was a problem, however, which should be noted. The GoPro 7 features HyperSmooth in-camera stabilization for really smooth motion. And the video quality looks beautiful when combined with the smooth movement of a gimbal. Unfortunately, though, the front arm of a gimbal protrudes quite conspicuously into the picture frame. By adding some additional counterweight to the mount unit using a standard 1/4" threaded hole, I could move the camera far enough away from the arm to avoid being in the frame. However, when HyperSmooth was activated, the GoPro's internal stabilization brings the gimbal arm right back into frame whenever panning to the left. By my guess, a mount would need to be about two inches wider to avoid having the gimbal arm in frame. And in turn, the mount counterbalance would need to be proportionally heavier, likely overloading the gimbal's weight limit. I could ONLY get the gimbal arm to not appear in the frame with HyperSmooth turned off, which defeated the purpose of what I was trying to achieve. Earlier GoPro models without HyperSmooth should not have this problem.

The product works but it’s cumbersome, edges are sharp and depending on your gimbal set up, takes some time to balance. Hope this review helps.

Osmo Action does not fit securely or perfectly. This plate will not fit into DJI Osmo Mobile 3. This plate is not wide enough for a secure grip on Osmo Mobile 3. Osmo Action remain very loose even with the arm tightly screwed on the camera. The plate also will not balance in the gimball. This was a waste of my money trying to use with Osmo Mobile 3 and Osmo Action.
