Gator-Lock

Purchased this item to secure my 300 Yamaha from moving on long road trips. It worked great keeping my engine steering from having any damage from long days of transport.One of my two braces did eventually show some wear/ deformation and I contacted Gatorbak customer service. I was responded to immediately and advised how to fix the brace as well as sent a replacement set.I cannot imagine any better customer service.

Good Fitment for purpose and price compared to more expensive options. Make sure to measure both sides of steering rod and the diameter of the steering rod prior to ordering as there are several options.Have approximately ~1/8 total play side to side once installed.No issues and keep motor centered while trailering. Without them, motor would tend to wander slightly on rough roads, even with a transom saver.

Used with my Merc Pro 225 to keep it from turning while traveling to and from fishing locations. I would buy again as I like the lanyard that keeps them attached when off the engine.

The Gator Lock works pretty well, but is soft enough that it starts to deform from the pressure after a couple of weeks.

This pair of motor stops are well made and work perfectly. They are connected by a high vis cord which is handy. I would highly recommend them.

I had a small problem with my lock set customer service went beyond what I have experienced any company would do in many years to make it right!!!! Best customer service 100%!!!!

Not really what I needed. The Mercury Optimax is designed with the steering push rod that extends out on only one side. This product is designed to attach on either side of the push rod securing the motor in the straight position. I tried using 2 gator locks together to hold the engine in a sideways position. But found the best use for me was one gator lock the 4inch and then bungee the steering wheel to hold the motor straight while pinned to the gator lock.

I purchased a new 2022 boat with a Mercury Four Stroke 4.6 L. V8 250 HP with Mercury's hydraulic power steering. When the engine is straight, the exposed steering rods are of unequal length (starboard/right side is shorter). It required me to cut 9/16" off of one of the Gator Locks. Now it fits perfect.
