The Interfaith Alternative: Embracing Spiritual Diversity

Your book had a great deal to do with that
I simply can’t thank you enough for this book. I have, for some time now, been searching for a path that I could truly believe in. Thanks, in no small part, to your book, I have found that path. After reading this book, I felt compelled to action. Not just for myself, but for my community and the world around me as well. I have enrolled in an Interfaith Seminary and started myself along the path of Interfaith Ministry and Chaplaincy work. Your book had a great deal to do with that. Well written and truly inspiring. For me, you have given clarity on what I had thought might be a very unclear road ahead. You showed me, not only was I on the proper path for me, but I was most certainly not alone on that path. For that, I can’t thank you enough. I’ll recommend this book to all I find who are seeking the same clarity and understanding as I once was.

All beliefs have merit
The author calls on us to see the merits of and show respect for beliefs different than our own. We all benefit by understanding and caring for each other, and we have more in common than we have differences. One obvious common thread throughout all beliefs is that we are our brothers and sisters keepers. It is up to each of us to respect and care for our fellow humans. Perhaps that is the common belief that can bring all faiths together. This was a thought provoking and well written book.

Small but a great big guide and help!
The thing that I liked the most was it’s simplicity. It is an easy read and give you great ideas to use when you minister to people of all faiths.

Interfaith is a real way to accept world traditions
A good, albeit not in depth discussion about reaching out to all faith traditions and learning to accept how the Divine is present is wonderful ways regardless what faith someone practices. A followup book that provides more detail and goes deeper into the subject of finding the Truth in world traditions would be most welcome.

Really gets to the heart of Interfaith
I would recommend this to anyone on any faith or with no faith at all. It shows us how we can all be accepting of each other - no matter what we believe, who we are, where we come from, what we are seeking, who are neighbors are - near or far. Thanks for the wonderful bood

Wonderful Read
This book was so well written, I feel I could have highlighted every word because it resonated so deeply with what I believe. I cannot wait to discuss it at our book club meeting.

A Peaceful Path From Religious Conflict
Human religious history is littered with disagreement over doctrine and dogma, ranging the spectrum from mild irritation to horrible violence. This book shines a bright light on the divisive practice of "right belief" concerning our unique experiences of the sacred, God, universe, or whatever word you care to use to describe reality. It proclaims the overwhelming universality for the call to live life with love, and to work for social justice for all human beings with compassion and respect, as the common message found in all major religions as well philosophies such as Humanism with no deity aspect at all. It's central component states that it is how we live our lives that is important, not what we believe that get us there. It offers Interfaith as a new faith, wherein people can come together in community or church and learn from each others paths, while holding and advancing that we are each others keeper, one family, and responsible for how we act towards each other and the planet. I highly recommend this book.

The Answer to Religious Conflict
A fascinating new look at Interfaith as its own faith, rather than just a means by which different religious groups come together. The author makes a compelling case for celebrating our spiritual traditions together and honoring each other's religious experiences as equally valid to our own. If more people believed in this and followed it, there would be a lot more love and respect in the world.
